View Full Version : DC's super-long super titles: what would they look like at Marvel?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed that, for whatever reason, DC has been giving a lot of its new ongoing monthly comics either really long titles, or slapped sub-titles on both rebooted and continuing titles.

Flash becomes Flash: The Fastest Man Alive
Aquaman becomes Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis
Firestorm becomes Firestorm: The Nuclear Man
JLA becomes Justice League of America

then there's

All-New Atom
Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes
Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters

And, what's gotta be the longest title for an ongoing monthly comic from a major publisher that I can remember:

All Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder

I know Marvel has slapped on subtitles and longer names with mini-series, but I haven't seen much of it with their ongoing monthlies. Except, of course, when they come up with new series for a particular franchise (e.g., Spider-Man's various peripheral titles like Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Spider-Man's Tangled Web).

I'm curious if A) Marvel fans would want to see this with their favorite ongoing monthlies and B) If so, what would you choose for the names?

What about...

Spider-Man: We can wring another title out of him

Wolverine: Cough up the cash Fanboy

Alpha Flight: What the hell, it might work this time.

Marvel Comics Presents Hitch and Heinberg: Don't wait for the trade; you'll probably be dead.

New X-Men - Not Morrison's New X-Men or even the New Mutants' New X-Men but an even Newer All New X-Men.

Marvel used to do this all the time:

Amazing Spider-man
Incredible Hulk
Daredevil, The Man Without Fear
Captain America & the Falcon
The All-New, All-Different X-Men
Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-man

or, my personal favorite,

Giant-Size Super-Villain Team-Up

(No, I'm not making that up; yes, I'm aware of Giant-Size Man Thing, but that Top Ten joke has gotten stale.)

How about "We have no idea what people want to read" or " We don't care if you don't like it we're done it anyway":D One of those should be the title for most of there books.
