He penciled House of M, some Uncanny X-men issues (448 and 449) and some Avengers issues. I really like his style, and I am trying to collect as many back issues he has penciled as I can. But does anyone know what he is doing now? Will he get his own book? Any news?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to see some of his first American work try to find the stuff he did for the Legion titles when he first started her in the states. I think his style was even better back then before he refined it to what it is now. He did:

Legion of Super Heroes 122-123 (Legion of the Damned)
Legionnaries 79-80 (Legion of the Damned)
Legion Lost 1-3, 5, 7-8, 10-12
The Legion 1-4, 6-8, 10-12

His earlier work was some Legion of Superheroes work for DC, I don't remember exactly when this was. He also did a variant cover for Eternals #1, not sure of he's doing this for the whole series or not. Also he's doing one of the New Avengers Civil War books, I think it's #23 (not 100% sure on the exact number).

I would really like to see him get a title to work on, preferably either X-Men or Avengers. (I'd prefer Avengers. Avengers annual where Cage gets married was great).

Joe Quesada said that one of the artists working on the "New Avengers: Disassemebled" arc would be the permanent artist for the book post-Civil War. My hope is that it's Coipel. He's brilliant. Also, he draws Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, and Storm better than just about anyone, so he needs to be working on at least one of those characters, and if I had to guess, I'd say Ms. Marvel was going to be on the team post-Civil War, so here's hoping...

I thought David Finch was the artist for Disassembled.

New Avengers Disassembled.

It's the name of the current, multi-artist CIVIL WAR crossover storyline.

OH, thanks. Why'd they repeat that title again. Wont new fans get confused (like myself).

American work? He has done work outside the states?

It's a reference to the original - 'cause after CW the New Avengers will probably break up into the Pro-Reg Avengers and the Anti-Reg Avengers...

I loved his Legion work. It was very kinetic and kind of manga in a good way. Definitely an up and comer, but I haven't liked his Marvel stuff nearly as much. Its probably the difference in inkers.

Actually, he worked for Amblination and Dreamworks before getting hired by Wildstorm (and then by DC). I'm not sure if he did work in the French comics industry, but if he did, he was not a superstar.

Does anyone else think his style is very much like Marc Silvertri's Uncanny X-men stuff??
I love his stuff! (Olivier's)

No, I think his style is much tighter and much more carefully designed than Silvestri's. If I had to compare Coipel with anybody, it would be with Leinil Francis Yu.
