Imagine Allan Heinberg all of a sudden said he doesnt want to write YA, who could be good replacements to keep it a great series, just that not delayed?

Man, I would never want anyone to replace them. However, if there was no choice, I would like to see Geoff Johns and Steve McNiven take over. I like the way GJ writes Teen Titans. I think he would transition well onto YA. As for SM, I think YA looks great on CW. I would take them.

Believe it or not, I think Dan Slott would be a good fit for this book.
I would love to see George Perez drawing this.

You've just retooled the Young Avengers with the Runaways.

Yeah, because he did such a great job taking over Young Justice/Teen Titans.

Well, obviously you don't think so, but I think he did. Plus, I love what he is doing on Teen Titans now.

Well, obviously you don't think so, but I think he did.

If Johns were to write that book the YA would fight Kang, Ultron, Kang, Ultron, Kang, Ultron... he lacks the ability to use different villains. TT and JSA suffered from this and made me drop them.
Nope, Johns is IMO not half the league Heinberg is.
He also tends to go huge steps backwards while the concept of YA is to play with continuity but move it forward and doing something new.
I'd also like my comic book characters to have some fun instead have them morph into "Young and yet depressed Avengers".

I'd say Sean McKeever (but he has yet to show his ability to write team books) or Zeb Wells (New Warriors was awesome).
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (who wrote the best FF book) could maybe also pull the trick.
Naturally Brian K. Vaugan also comes to mind, as is Peter David (remember "Young Justice"? DC's best book ever).

As for the art - well Cheung is the best. His dynamics and style rule. It's hard to find a substitute. Rick Mays or Takeshi Miyazawa would be good choices (but then the book had to turn into a b/w book because the colorists tend to downright butcher their work as seen in "Iron Fist", "Giant-Size Spider-Woman" and "Runaways" which sucked compared to their b/w work on "Kabuki Agents: Scarab" and "Sidekicks").

Peter David, Fabian Nicieza, Mark Waid, Nunzio DeFilippis/Christina Weir and Kurt Busiek would all be excellent choices as writers for Young Avengers, and have all proven their ability to write similar books. As for people who haven't necessarily proved it but whom I'd give a chance to.. I'd have to think about that. Definitely McKeever as mentioned above, though.

Artists with the chops to succeed Cheung? Nauck, Immonen, Pelletier, McNiven, Perez (of course), Kitson, Porter.

I'm actually interested in seeing how Zeb Wells handles the crossover book. Despite having an incredibly lousy editorially mandated concept with New Warriors, I thought he managed to get the characters across quite well.

Some of the issues were very good. And the ending was very powerful, especially for what was essentially a humour book.

Considering how important Avengers history is to this book, I'll go with the writer who's schtick is to take a concept's history and make it a viable, active part of the story. I'm talking Ed Brubaker, of course. He's the only guy I can think of that I feel could really make magic with these kids the way Heinberg has. He'd of course be joined by Olivier Coipel. His work, like Cheung's, is always vibrant and youthful, and I think that he would be an incredible replacement.

So, yeah, Brubaker and Coipel. I'd really love to see this, but only after Heinberg and Cheung have told their story.

Hope it doesn't happen, and shame on you for even suggesting it.

Hypothetically though, I would like to see Peter David and Andrea Divitto.

Writers) Brian K Vaughan, Sean McKeever, Peter David, Robert Kirman, Mark Millar, Joss Whedon, and I'm interested in what Zeb Wells can do with the characters in the Civil War trailer.

Artists) Ed McGuiness, Mark Bagley, David Finch, Ethan Van Scrier, and Damion Scott are the only opnes who come to mind.

I don't want to list DC-exclusive guys (Waid, Morrison, Perez)
