I was at Uncanny XMen.net and they say Adam X is the third Summers brother. But what about Vulcan ? Wasn't he a Summers too ?
And then at the Neramani familly tree they show that Lillandra and Deathbird had a sister. Couldn't she be Lifeguard and Slipstream's mother ?

It probably just hasn't been updated since Deadly Genesis came out.

Adam X is NOT a Summers, nor is he related to Scott and Alex.

Gabriel IS a Summers (even though that retcon sucked)

As for Lifeguard and slipstream's mother, it is quite possible. Though I doubt we'll ever find out.

The problem with Vulcan being the 3rd Summers Brother is that there is no explanation given as to how Mr. Sinister would know about it, and it leaves a dangler as to who the Earth woman that Adam X's mother is. Brubaker just complicated things when introducing Vulcan. More convolution.

Maybe one day there will be an explanation.

Or maybe it really was a mistake, as Sinister said?

it doesn't really matter.

With Shi'ar cloning (and age advancing) technology, it isn't truly impossible that Adam X is not genetically linked to Cyke and Havok.

D'ken just stabbed Katherine, he didn't disintegrate her. 5 years down the line, when Vulcan has hopefully been reduced to another blip in X-history, some "hot" writer can go and mess up the origins again.

Sinister could easily have gotten a sample of Vulcan's DNA while he was on Muir; or he could simply have gotten ahold of Moira or Xavier's files in the ensuing years.

And the Adam X thing is no longer a dangler; it was just some other human woman. If the Shi'ar kidnapped the Summers family, it stands to reason they may have also kidnapped other humans during that period.

Agreed. After all, we know that Sinister kept a close eye on Moira and her work for years. So it stands to reason he was aware of Vulcan. He may not have known he died with an 'X-Men 1.5' team on Krakoa, but he may have been aware of his existance and simply lost track of him.
