I don't know if I found a glitch or what, but there was a time I had all the best armor and weapons and went in to fight Indalecio and beat him without throwing a blow. I've no idea how that happened, but I tried it several times after that, using books to change my relationships with the party members and it still come up with the same thing.

For me, can't remember his name but the last boss of Legend of Dragoon. Took me 45 minutes to beat him. By the end I was out of heals and really panicing that if he beat me I'd have to do it all over again. Not that the ending was worth a 45 minute boss fight, but at least I beat him.

i fought indalecio with party consist of claude,rena,dias,ashton.....all level +80 with the best equipment.....at the beginning i think i will win easily but when his HP was reduced to 2/3 of his normal HP (his HP is 500,000)....the situation is getting worse for me.....he insanely use earthquake, southren cross,explode,etc.....that sweep my party in an instant.....
geez, i really hate this boss,he's cheating.....if i have some codes then i will make it equal & crush him in 10 seconds :evilsmile

To me, it's gotta be Chaos from Final Fantasy. I still haven't beaten him, though I've beaten all the other final bosses I have ever faced off against.

If I remember correctly, his name is Melbu Frahma, Or something close to it.

It's a tie between Deus(any form) or that final boss from Evolution 2.

Cort (final form) from Legend of Legaia was pretty damn hard.

But Indalecio (Limiter OFF) is flat out unbeatable. Period.

The fact that you couldn't use Ars Arcanum, Ragnoruk, or Sonic blade was kind of annoying, but he wasn't all that difficult.

Seph, in FFVII, was kind of a pushover in any form. I fought him in the mid 60s, and he never killed any of the group I fought him with.

Luca Blight (Suikoden II)

Luca Blight? I never had any trouble with him. I admit, taking 18 of your best fighters, a slew of arrows and a one-on-one duel was a bad ass way to die, but still...

Yeah, he just really was not that hard.

Actually he's not even tough. The whole purpose of the fights is to lower his
health by as much as you can, regardless whether or not everyone is alive or
dead at the encounters.

They're all timed anyway.

Depends what do you mean by most powerful?
1. The hardest to beat(as seems to be assumed).
2. The biggests numbers
3. The greastest power by story line.

Seph was a joke at the end of the game. By then I had two characters casting Knights every round. Ruby Weapon, IIRC, was the toughest boss.

Chaos (FF) isn't usually too bad. If you can last a few rounds with a FAST Master, you should be able to pound him down. Never actually tried it without a Master, though....

Indalecio (Star Ocean 2) isn't that bad either. He's fast and a bother with his fast-casting spells, but he should be handle-able by level 80. You just have to gang-up on him when he does that thing with the girl (he powers up after losing 1/2 or more of his health). If Diaz and Claude were both shooting stars, you should be fine.

Oggy, there are a few potions (Smelly Potion? Something like that) which gives a next-hit kill if the thing works. It even works in scripted-loss battles. Most likely you accidently used one, it worked, and one of your characters hit him when he was not looking.

Now, Indalecio Unlimited is a somewhat different story. I'm not sure if I could take him in a straight fight. So I went through the super-extra dungeon, and then used the Silver Trumpet to call Iselia Queen for some massive battles. She either drops an accessory that renders 3/4s of IU's spells useless, or the most powerful sword in the game (Useable by Claude, Ashton, and Dias, I believe). It gets stronger the weaker you get, too. So I strapped on some Bloody Armor, anti-stone equipment, the accessory, made 20 Fairy Mists to abuse Ashton's Tri-Ace move and keep IU slowed down, and.... well, Indalecio Unlimited was not that hard anymore.

Oh, and most of my party was in the 200s by then. That helped a fair bit.

Bloodbane from "Valkryie Profile" (Normal Game Mode, not Hard) was a bit of challenge. Though he is very handable in Hard mode, since you can get much better equipment.

The Charm Lord from "Saga Frontier" has given me a few headaches, mostly because his defense is so high that my SDCs don't do more than 7000 damage on him. But I concentrate pretty high on physical attacks in that game....

Yeah, once you get past level fourty, Masters start doing obscene amount of damage. If I remember correctly, my Master was doing more damage than my Knight, even with FAST. Thing is, due to a Master's shitty defense, he was actually a couple of levels lower.

I'd say Lucifer in Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, but only if you don't properly prep for it. If you do prep for it, then it's actually pretty easy, just a little time consuming.

That said Hito-shura in Digital Devil Saga was supposed to be batshit insanely difficult. Can't say from experience, though.

Ever.
My brother had some trouble with the one on one Sora vs. normal form Ansem battle. He was at a pretty low level though...

Anyway I take it we're going by difficulty and not by storyline power level in this thread? Because in terms of story power it's hard to beat Loki from Valkyrie Profile (actually destroyed both the realms of the gods and of humanity in one shot)...

For that matter, there's Makai Kingdom Prinny Baal who comes driving the Battleship Yoshitsuna which has even higher stats than he does...

Final Fantasy X Creation monsters in the arena...

I mean I think Ive only beaten one of those things....Id say they rank up there some place.

And I know its not a boss But the Grand Marboro in Final Fantasy series, Their Bad Breath move is grounds for Most horrible attack in the FF universe, next to the Tonberry Knife attack.

Ruby Weapon was an absolute bitch to beat, unless if you tweaked your materia into some really broken combos, then he (and every single other enemy in the game) was easy as hell.

You have to switch characters to damange him. If he's invulnerable to Max, Monica can hurt him. If he's invulnerable to Monica, Max can hurt him.

I did it by synthesizing my main weapon to give my gun a massive stat boost. Amd then I alternated by shooting him and blocking his arrows. It's also a good idea to have some amulets in case he does hit you.

What we mean is that they are powerful for the sole reason that even the most seasoned of gamers have a hard time with them. Think about it: They got high attack, strong defense, and plenty of tricks up their many sleeves.

Isn't

Final Attack + Revive Materia combo required for Ruby and Emerald Weapons?

I know I've hit Emerald with about 7 consecutive Knights of the Round before and he got some "final" attack off :(

I agree with Oggy :P Melbu Frahma, hands down. OR that wingly that was in love with Lloyd. Took me FOREVER to beat her.

When I fought Lloyd and he was a dragoon(I think he was) or whenever he had that move that made the green dome, he kicked my ass. Two characters were dead, Dart was at 32 HP, and was in his last stage of dragoon. I attacked, he went out of dragoon... and I was getting ready to restart the ps2 because I KNEW I was dead anyway.. when BAM. Scene of Dart slamming the final blow. Best. Moment. Ever.

I did....for the LONGEST time! I was at level 57 and got myself whooped badly over and over again... then I leveled up to about 65 and didnt once have panic attack during the fight. He was quite the push over. And leveling up only took like 10 minutes. Sometimes I cry at my stubborness and stupidity. :(

I nominate Zophar of Lunar 2, Eternal Blue.

The only reason I was able to beat this bastard was because I hoarded all my silver and blue stars like Scrooge McDuck does gold until I fought him.

Even then, it took more than a few tries to finally cut off a couple of his arms to whittle him down to managable boss levels. Not to say that he was easy after this, but it chances for survival increased dramatically for every arm you managed to cut off. I hated fighting this creep.
