Starting on Sunday, July 2 all X-Posters should change their avatars to an image of CYCLOPS, post interesting CYCLOPS threads, and tell funny CYCLOPS stories! Celebrate the character of Scott Summers!

Also be sure to submit a new drawing, no matter how bad, for Draw Me An X: Cyclops 2.0 (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=121348)!

At the end of the week we'll reflect on our from-the-ashes fun and vote on the best CYCLOPS avatar!

So...use this thread to discuss your anticipation and plans for CYCLOPS WEEK! And then on Sunday, let the celebration begin!

The Man With One Visor

The ray of light was nothing in the end;
A ray of light that could pierce steel
Metal would flinch against a gaze of sheer
Force and gusto, ruby light as the color of love

A ray fueled by the power of the sun
The almighty sun that gave life
This light was always shunned,
Since instead he felt it a curse

A curse that robbed him of normalcy
A curse that drove him away from friends
A curse that saved lives at the cost of his own
A curse that called him to fight the good fight

A visionary, they called the man of light
As his ruby ray came from his cursed eyes
The ray of light was nothing in the end
For his true vision was powered by heart

The light as the color of love
Exact same as the hair of his true love
She gave him life and love
She focused his vision
