Ok... Does any look at page 7 and think they see what I think I see?

What exactly do you think I think you think you see?
Good to know that even dressed for battle and facing certain death, Kendra's got the good underwear on. Someone listened to her mother.

Just take a look at the page #7. Maybe I can scan it and put it up.

You mean the page that starts out "I shall MARK you." ?
If so, I don't know what I am supposed to be seeing. I'm looking at it. Not getting it.

You mean the blatantly vaginal Lovecraft-type being that Khimaera is cowering before ?
Yeah, haven't seen representations of those so prominent in a comic book since Watchmen.

Exactly what I thought.
For those that don't have the book...

I haven't read the issue yet, but I thought the same when I saw the cover solicits in August for the cover of Hawgirl #55.

Well, moving onto more mundane subjects, this book is starting to bore me. they killed off the detective i thought was earmarked for Kendra, and the villain for this issue really grossed me out. I'm pretty sure it's not Hawkman that's coming back next issue, so i'm seriously considering dropping it (again).

I kinda got that feeling when I first saw it, but I don't know enough of Lovecraft to find that connection.
Any particular story?
As for the book itself...
Well, at least things are beginning to pick up. But as I read it, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had missed something, so I went back to #52 just to give myself a refresher. I hate doing that, by the way.
[edit]1000th post. Yea!

Ah...see, that's why I wasn't catching on. That's not the page #7 I was looking at. Counting through, counting only the illustrated pages and not adverts, then I've got page seven as the one with the "mate" floating in crystal, and the Big Bad running past Thanagarian heiroglyphics.
So...Kendra will be facing off against a giant pussy. Nice. I didn't catch the visual the first time around. Now...it's just a big ol' Forum letter.

This book has hit the mark with me for some reason, its just an obscure not overly popular book.I like the characterization kendra has with her supporting cast, something alot of DC books miss the mark on.I really don't care what happens as long as
A.)they don't kill KENDRA"she rocks"
b.)They give Kendra awhile in the spot light before Carter gets back

c.)and tell a good story!
Shouldn't that be part of the criteria?

A great serie.
What did i read on newsarama: Chaykin, will not stay on the serie?

"Didio does know who will replace Howard Chaykin on art for Hawkgirl, but wasn't saying."
gRRRR!!!! This serie is currently my favorite (Mouse Guard and Aquaman Sword of Atlantis are close seconds). I love Simonson's stories, but Chaykin's art is alf of the apeal on this book. Don't know how much i'll enjoy it without Chaykin. If only the "replacement" was Simonson doing the art and the story.
