Which student must return?

Since a lot of fans are very sad about all those student deaths and depowering in New X-Men lately. I was really curious who you wanted back mostly. So I decided to start my very first poll:

Who of these kids do you want to see back the most??

I'd say leave them dead or depowered. It's not that I didn't like them (or some of them anyway), but there should be actual ramifications to the Hourse of M storyline. It doesn't make sense if 99% of the mutants lost their powers except for those living in the X-Mansion. As it is, the X-Men were extremely lucky. What present of them lost their powers?

Bring everyone else back, but let Icarus molder in the ground with most people thinking he was a traitor except Cannonball who tried to redeem him post mortem.

Also, wipe out everything from House of M. It was a serious blow to the X-franchise for me and I hate it. Decimation, O*N*E, the loss of District X, Shield suddenly being evil and anti-mutant, none of it was good change.

I voted for Quill because he was awesome in the movie and I feel they should have changed his looks a bit to that cool version. It's a waste that the only squad member of the school who was in X-3 died.

The other person I voted for is DJ, because he looked so damm cute. I never saw him in action (started to buy during House of M), but would heve loved to see more of him.

The others: I never cared about that much 'bout them.

In order it would be Wallflower, Wind Dancer, Icarus, and then DJ

Laurie(Wallflower) was undergoing a LOT of character development. She started out shy and was coming out of her shell in a very well written and progressive way. She learned how to really control her powers and become more socially involved in the end...

Sophia(Wind Dancer) was a great character with amazing powers and possibilites. I loved her friendship with Laurie and her developing romance with Julian...

Jay(Icarus) was... Hott(wings do it fo me... ) I liked his character and his friendship/possible romance with Noriko and Sooraya. He was a good person once nunzio and Christina got a hold of him and made him an actual friend to the students at the academy... And he's a GUTHRIE!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN YOU KILL A GUTHRIE!!!!!!!!???????????!!!!?!?!?!?!???????

DJ just seemed so cool. Almost like a rival to both Julian and Match. The flirt, the ladies man. His power seemed very appealing too. I wonder what he was able to do with his abilities. Whether it was blasting crap or even controlling psychic energies(depending on the music of course) and could cause psi-bolts or levitate objects. Many possibilites with him too.

& Magik from the New Mutants!!

Catseye & Magik would return from possibly(?) death (they're loopholes surrounding both's dissappearance...it's debatable to say the least), while Tarot would just be coming back from Limbo (no not that Limbo, the other one!)

Since Wind Dancer is very much not dead, I think we can safely say she's going to be back. They've invested alot of time in her and since they haven't killed her off, my guess is that she's going to get a story arc that hinges on her directly - probably involving Hellion. Perhaps she'll get a solo ep, like many of the New Mutants did in the original series. Obviously it remains to be seen how or if she will be re-powered, but my guess is that "decimation" won't last forever (does anything, in the X-verse?).

We're 28 issues in - it's about time we got an o/t solo story out of one of these characters.

As for who I'd like to see return...

Quill and Icarus top my list - Quill because he was an interesting character who had alot of potential.

Jay? Well, Jay was a 20 year old character despite his relatively recent "introduction." He also had alot of potential that wasn't explored, and I felt he could've easily and quickly been transferred to New Excalibur if they wanted to move him or felt he wasn't useful - he was already older than all the others and more aware of the world around him. He'd have been a good foil for Dazzler. Don't know if we'll see him again.

One of the problems with this book is the constant killing. Since Sammy, they've been killing far too regularly. In the entire 100-issue run of the original New Mutants only two characters really "died" - and Warlock ended up being resurrected. The lack of death made their impact that much more resonant - Doug Ramsey's death has had repercussions for a long time now... Can anyone say that Sammy's death has any repercussions now?

That being said, I went with Icarus. He was so mellow, never picked sides, and was an all around nice guy. And very cute. I miss him terribly. His death at the hands of Stryker broke my heart!:frown:
