Welcome to the next match of the Avengers League! If you haven't been following the league, it is a large scale series of battles where posters draft teams and pit their teams against that of other posters, and you vote to decide who wins. When voting, please consider the strategies the players have written, rather than just the team's roster.

Each match is taking place on an empty battlefield, 100 yards away, and each character (with few exceptions) depicted is in his/her most frequent incarnation (therefore, no Iron Spidey or Extremis Iron Man), and the characters have to act in character (meaning that the heroes cannot kill if they aren't normally wont to do so).

If you have any questions about the strategies, please feel free to post these questions here, and the players will answer. The match will last twenty-four hours. After that time period, the player with the largest number of votes wins.

!!! - For your vote to count, you must have a post count of no lower than fifty.

Will.S's team: Quicksilver, Vision, Justice, Hawkeye, Wonder Man, Black Knight II, Yellowjacket, She-Hulk

GrandMaster Funk's team: Magneto, Super-Skrull, Hulking, Ares, Jack of Hearts, The Thing, Jocasta

Will.S's strategy:

Simultaneous actions: Quicksilver piggyback's Jen non-hulked out towards Magneto before he puts up his shields. Black Knight also charges forward with his steed behind the pair. Jen turns into She-Hulk and lunges at Magneto but he puts up his force field just in time which makes She-Hulk crashes into it. Black Knight arrives and slices through the barrier with the ebony blade, leaving an opening for She-Hulk to get through. She picks him up, slams him into the floor and stomps on him and keeps pounding away at him until he goes unconscious.

Vision goes straight for the Super Skrull and phases himself, he puts his hand through his head, slowly turns tangible as easily as Young Vision did in Young Avengers and takes him out.

Yellowjacket grows to 50 feet, grabs and throws Thing high up into the air while he stinger blasts Hulking before jumping high up in the air himself and landing/stomping Hulking out. Thing almost lands but yellowjacket kicks him into the air again and plays hacky sack with Thing.

Justice fights with Jack of Hearts in mid-air battles. Justice erects his TK shields to protect him from Jack's blasts. Justice pulls Jack towards him and punches him with tk force, in a daze Jack flies away from Justice and keeps him at bay with his energy blasts but they have no effect.

Getting tired of the cat and mouse game, Justice constructs a sword and shield of pure TK energy while also using his TK to fly. Justice closes in on Jack of Hearts all the while outmaneuvering his blasts and stabs him in the back with his TK sword stunning Jack enough to hit him with the TK shield to the back of head which sends him hurtling back to earth.

Wonder Man fights Ares. Wonder Man flies up into the air and uses momentum to charge into Ares. Ares tries to take a shot at Wonder Man and tries to punch him but Simon makes a 360 turn and goes for the knees. Ares in pain cannot stand for a few moments which leaves him open to another dive bomb attack. Wonder man goes up for another dive and slams into Ares fists first to the head and stays on the ground. Ares enraged grabs his belt engines and breaks them off, Wonder Man then puts him in a headlock position and chokes him with his 95 ton strength into submission.

Hawkeye fights Jocasta. He readies a smoke arrow which temporarily disrupts her line of sight. While she's busy dealing with the smoke he whips out a magnetic arrow doused with Pym particles and shoots it right at her, she begins to shrink to the size of an action figure and Hawkeye quips "Man I've been waiting for a Marvel Legends Jocasta action figure for years!" and straps her to an acid arrow at the floor which dissolves her titanium armor into a puddle of liquid metal.

GrandMaster Funk's strategy:

Phase 1:
-Magento leads the assault focusing his energies on Vision, screaming, “I’ll teach you to put your metal hands on my daughter!”
-Super-Skrull follows the charge using his stretching ability to make his arms thin and sharp to cut through Hawkeye. As extra insurance to make sure his opponent is taken down he lights his arrows on fire.
-Hulking grows wings and goes after Justice, maintaining some distance.
-Jocasta takes to the air and starts blasting towards Quicksilver to keep him moving
-Ares charges towards She-Hulk, and challenging the gamma-gal to a fist fight.
-Jack of Hearts starts blasting towards Wonderman and to keep him preoccupied.
-That leaves The Thing to take care of Black Knight and Yellow Jacket.

Phase 2:
-Super-Skrull once done with Hawkeye goes on to help The Thing deal with Black Knight and Yellow Jacket. He creates a bubble around the two and suffocate them.
-Hulking gets behind Justice and changes his arm into a snake like tail and wraps it around Justice’s neck and starts wailing on him. Taking him out.
-Jocasta and Jack switch opponents.Jocasta uses her eyebeams against Wonderman and Jack starts blasting towards Quicksilver.
-Magneto and Ares stick to their attacks.

Phase 3:
-Super-Skrull now focuses his attention on Wonderwman joining Jocasta’s attacks. The two’s combined power should take him out.
-The Thing goes over to help Ares take care of She-Hulk. Strength in numbers should lead to her defeat, the exchange punches with her until she’s out.
- Hulking helps Jack out by lifting him up in the air to prevent Quicksilver from reaching him. Jack continues blasting Quicksilver.
-Magneto puts up his force field to protect himself from any attacks that Viz makes.

Phase 4 (finale):
-Super-Skrull, Jocasta,Ares, The Thing, and Jack of Hearts now move their attention towards Vision.
-Magneto and Teddy use the same strategy they used to take out Quicksilver’s nephew. Teddy hands Magneto his earrings and Magneto uses them to tear up Quicksilver tendons.
-Magneto and Teddy then go over to help the rest of their team deal with Vision. The combined forces of all should be able to take him out.

WOW! This one is no strategy, JUST fisticuffs! I'm gonna have to think about this one. You two just went for each other's throats!

I might be more picky than usual today (heaven only knows why ;) ), but both battles have a couple mighty big holes in them. My vote goes to whoever can convince me better.

Will

Can Yellowjacket fire a blast when he's giant-sized? I've just never seen him or Wasp do that. (Of course, since he stomps on Teddy anyway, this is not that big a hole...pardon the pun)

Hawkeye's attack is dependant on Jocasta not having her force field up...or not being able to put it up before the arrow reaches her. That's iffy.

My biggest problem is with the Thing. Yellowjacket just tosses and kicks him around until he loses consciousness? That's gonna take a looooooong time. And IN that time, I believe Ben could shatter YJ's foot/knee like an overly big tree stump. Pym gets strong when he gets big, but he's not invulnerable.

GMF

Super Skrull takes out Black Knight and Pym way too easily. Firstly, I believe the Knight's blade can cut through an invisible shield. Secondly, you don't attack them until Phase 2, so you're assuming that Pym just stands there during Phase 1 and doesn't grow or shrink down and fly away.

You also have Quicksilver just running around dodging the entire time, accomplishing nothing, until he is defeated. I don't see it happening like that. While he's (easily) dodging Jocasta's beams, he can still attack your guys.

Yeap, and there you have it. Real reactions from the Avengers themselves regarding your questions. I thought they presented their cases rather well.

Will - two things:

1. Best responses EVER in defense of a strategy. That, my friend, was funny.

2. I'm almost willing to break my policy and jump in and vote for you--if you can make me one of those Jocasta Marvel Legends action figures.

Great job, both youzguyzs. These were both extremely fun to read.

Okay, let me see if I can decipher your little smartasseries and respond. ;)

1. I take it Yellowjacket has been firing blasts while giant-sized for a good long time and I just don't remember? Perfectly possible.

2. The Hawkeye thing is subjective, I'll grant you, so withdrawn.

3. I still don't buy Thing losing that easily. You're gonna need a funnier picture of an indignant Pym than that to satisfy me. (maybe one of him slapping Janet with Ben photo-shopped in? :) )
