View Full Version : Characters you want to see brought back to life

So out of all the characters dead and buried in the DCU, who would you like to see return? I would have to say Triumph,Aztek, and Harm. Triumph and Aztek were two characters that I always thought were cool and could have had better stories, Harm was a short lived villan in young justice that I just always thought was badass.

I don't think that there is anyone at the moment I want bringing back. Lots of characters bit the bullet in IC but I'd rather they stayed dead.

There's only two that I can think of:
Ice and Arisia.

Ice ... well, mainly she was a hugely under rated character and now that Guy Gardner actually is appearing in a title regularly again, the relationship between the two could make for some very interesting moments.

Arisia ... similar to Ice, now that the Green Lantern Corps is up and running once more it'd be good to have her back. She also died to Major Force, one of the worst villains I can think of, which means she should get a 'get back to life' card automatically.

I would definately like to see Ice return, myself.

Azrael. Under his original premise, not the watered down bastard bat-family member.

Conner. He was finally interesting in Titans, and he had to be killed for reasons not related to a story.

Put me down for Aztek as well. Grant Morrison and Mark Millar did a brilliant 10 issues of telling mind blowing stories. Unfortunately his sporadic appearances in JLA had him do nothing! He was like Wendy and Marvin in a killer costume.

Also, the original Black Condor. The new redesign looks like a Last of the Mohican reject in an emo costume.

Going w/ Azrael, I liked all the St.Dumas stuff.

I'd like to see Ice come back...which could actually work since A)she's a goddess and B)she already came quite close in the JLA classified issues with the second Giffen/Dematis Super buddies story.
Is Triumph even dead? Last I remember, Spectre froze him, but Zauriel (with Supes and Alan Scott backing him) stood up to Spec before he took a hammer to him, and they stored him in a freezer until they could find a way to unfreeze him. After all, if he was already dead, the standing up to Spec would be rather pointless..

I had forgotten that Maxima was dead. Huh. I would like to see her return too.

Really on the fence about Spoiler. I liked the Cass training stuff, I liked the Young Justice love triangle stuff, I even liked the Batman training her over comm link stuff. But towards the end when she got so desperate for Batman's approval she started doing dumb stuff (Huntress anyone) I just lost love for her. Let Spoiler stay dead, unless bringing her back somehow absolves Leslie Thompkins.

Ted Kord, Maxwell Lord (in a non-evil form), Sue Dibny.

Ice: Great character who could easily return
Maxima: Great enemy for Superman. Loved her
Superboy (Conner): They were finally doing some really interesting stuff with him. Such a shame
Jade: She is visually interesting, and she has been written badly by Winnick for years. She deserves a chance to prove why she was such a cool character in Infinity Inc.
Aztek: Interesting character. Nice visual. Waste of potential
Spoiler: I loved her. I hate that she's dead. I'd rather they had killed Nightwing or Batgirl

Any character that still has potential for good stories. Blue Beetle, Aztek, Amos Fortune, Ice... that's all I can think of right now.

Put me down for Ice, too.C'mon, they can bring back[SPOILER]Sue Dibny[/SOILER](and who was lying awake at night, longing for her return?),but Ice can't return? I was really pissed off when she didn't come back in that Stupid..er..SuperBuddies story, and they continued to toy with my emotions with a parallel timeline version of her. Just as long as they kill off the Ice Maiden chick that replaced her("ooh look, I'm a lesbian. That's it. That's all I got."). Since when is Ice a goddess?

Arisia too, for no other reason than I always thought she was hot. :D

Ice was always a goddess. Her people are a race of Norwegian gods that live in the ice. But yeah, totally want her back. Arisia would be cool too cuz I really liked her. BTW your spoiler tags didn't work. Seriously? She's back? Where? I'm a little behind in my comic reading right now. Was it in 52?

She was a princess, not a goddess. And I would love to see her come back. Her storylines with America's Greatest Hero, Guy Gardner were classics. Mark Waid has even admitted killing Ice was a mistake, and he's the dude who did it.

I think Jade means I Can't Believe it's Not the Justice League, which work had already begun on before she was killed.

I'd say leave superboy alone. let him have his heroic death, like Barry Allen. Should have let him knock up Wonder Girl, though.

Characters for whome I support ressurection:
Cheshire - this only applies if she's really dead. Too good a villain to leave lying around.
Pariah - Really, no explanation for him dying.
Maxima - loved her rivalry with superman.
Ice - Interesting story, sweet personality, and she was uke. Not characteristics you find very often, all together like that.
Jade - She's Green. Comics need hot green chicks.
Spoiler - Stupid, sadistic, contrived death. Needs to be undone as rapidly as Poison Ivy being poisoned.
Panthra - "Dick, you slut!" Need I say more?

No, she wasn't just a princess, she was a goddess. Always has been...check out how she was affected by "War of the Gods".

I was going by wikipedia, but I think you're correct. And I had successfully repressed any memory of "War of the Gods."

Ice - Always wanted her more than Ice Maiden
Silver Sorceress - More white haired characters! lol

and a lot more:

Maxima, Triumph, Aztek and the Crimson Foxes (ze twins. although a Crimsin Fox of sort is currently on GL)

Ice (yes, she was a Goddess, not a princess) - but no need to get rid of Icemaiden. I like Sigrid, too.

Aztek - what a cool character! So interesting, and under-used (I agree with the JLA comment, he was on monitor duty - wow....). I can't understand why characters like Aztek are killed off, but lame-o yawns like Gangbuster are still around.

Lady Quark - I heard that she's back, but I think the best forum for this would be in an all-new LEGION series (hint hint!)

Mystek - quite liked this young lass posing as a lad, very interesting. Shame they killed her off before we learned more.

Oh, and if they're going to bring back ze foxes, please make them CRIMSON in costume! Otherwise re-name them as the Brown Foxes or something...

Helena "the Huntress" Wayne!

Her post-Crisis replacement just doesn't do it. I want the real deal back in action!

Going w/ Azrael, I liked all the St.Dumas stuff.

I second that emotion.

The St. Dumas stuff was wicked. Azrael is a brainwashed super-inventor who creates sweet weapons like fiery sword gauntlets and, er, bat-claws.

Alright, some of it was silly, but mostly it was really cool. Bring him back!

Fire & Ice simply don't work as well without each other. And she is the perfect foil for Guy Gardner. Hell, she's a frickin' ice goddess, she could come back to life anytime. Make her entire body living ice or something. Ice Woman. Whatever you need to do, bring back Tora. Nobody liked that she died and the story that killed her off is loved by absolutely no one--not even the writers that did it. Bring her back.

Arisia, you can certainly make a case for bringing her back given the absolute stupidity of her death--cementing Major Force as the DCU's most villainous douche bag. However, she's dead and I don't really see a pressing need to bring her back when there's an entire planet of underage elfin hotties to make Hal really uncomfortable. Or maybe bring in Arisia's older sister or mother to give Hal a smack for hooking up with a girl who was physically 15 years old before her ring gave her the old aging wammy. That'd be very fun.

Are the Challengers of the Unknown dead again? If they are, somebody has gotten let somebody revive these guys. New Frontier's team-up of Ace Morgan and Hal Jordan was excellent. Let's explore that some more in the modern day. Red Ryan is the coolest cat alive.

Hal Jordan, Ollie Queen.... I'm thinking I'm pretty good as far as my dead heroes go. The only only ones I could think of would be the original Atom, Doc Midnight and Sandman. We already got Hourman. Don't know where or what is going on with Hawkman right now with the whole 52, but if he's dead, lets get him flying agian.

Other than that, I don't mind the currently dead people.

Ice (obvious)
Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)
Jade
Hawkwoman
Rocket Red (Dimitri)
The Freedom Fighters
Superboy
All of the Amazons who've been randomly slaughtered throughout the years.
Maxima.
Hippolyta.

Basically, anyone who had a really stupid death during Infinite Crisis plus some others.

I'm not sure why they went with the name Crimson Fox anyway. She called herself "Le Renard Rouge" which directly translates from French into The Red Fox, which would be more appropriate given the colour scheme of her costume. Crimson suggests a brighter red. However, I loved her costume and I loved her name so I'm not going to quibble! I'm just happy there is a Fench woman running around with the name and costume. Hopefully she'll be as interesting as the D'Aramis sisters were!

There was a character called the Red Fox being published at the time so they had to change the name.

It's a shame how many Sanford and Son related-jokes in the pages of JLE that we missed out on because of this change. Oh what might have been...
