What is the deal with Bishop? I remember reading up all my x men's as a young fan, and they made a big deal about him now he's kinda in the background..what service does he serve now that he's out in the back ground? does he predict things any more or any thing?
and what ever happened to the x traitor by the way? who did that turn out to be after all - i remember it vaguely being gambit, so how did that play out? i don t want to dig through issues to find out

It turned out to be Xavier. He went evil for the third time -- this time because he apparently had bits of Magneto swimming around his brain after mindwiping him -- and started calling himself Onslaught. He #*@%ed up the X-Men and Avengers for a while, then died but took the Avengers and FF with him... supposedly.

Nah, he went to trial for something he didn't actually do- leading the Marauders to the Morlocks. In reality the Marauders followed a Morlock girl from San Francisco right into the tunnels, so Gambit was framed. How and why (and why he himself believes he did it) haven't really been explained yet.

Wait, wait, what?
I know that Gambit taking the Morlocks into the tunnels was a retcon, but as far as I know since the trial, its never been discounted has it?

I think Lucky One may be taking the piss. :) Which I don't begrudge him one bit, as that story really sucked.
As to the original poster, Bishop doesn't really have anymore pertinent future info to share anymore. After the x-traitor failed to kill the X-Men, anything he remembers from the future is probably no longer valid anyway.

That's probably why they gave him a role as police-mutant in Distict X and in Mutopia.
He used to be a cop in his time, was one in Distict X and he is still a member of the XSE. Today he seems to be getting on the side of Valerie and ONE. (He also seems to like Val a lot)
My guess is Bishop will join ONE after X-Men: Civil War. Does anyone second that?

Yeah, they never officially retconned it- you have to just assume it's an untold story that'll never be told. Otherwise it's... yeah. What Sean said.

I never really liked Bishop...he was cool in X-Treme four a couple of issues before he shaved his head and Igor Kordey changed his costume design for the worse.

I would say I agree but now I dont know. What if everyone is wrong and Bishop is anti and not pro.

Interesting idea Nobbel! I think you just might be right on this. It would solve his near future whereabouts of which many raised questions.

That's who it was originally supposed to be. To catch the reveal, pick up the Onslaught: X-Men oneshot.

The gambit trial REALLY pisses me off.
a) as above, it's not true
b) if true, so what? It's not like he say, killed dozens of people with his razor sharp claws and beserker rages, stole someone's persona and threw them off a bridge, etc. etc.
c) he freaking tried to stop it and was almost gutted by sabertooth.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.

If you mean when was the Gambit thing revealed, it was Uncanny X-Men #349-50.

I think Bishop is an excellent character. He was always pretty out there in terms of respect for me because he always survived; he came from a totally mdifferent time and maanged to make a life in the 616; he then was the only person to go to and bakc from the AoA with total memory of it. Then he was a key player in the onslaught ordeal which he had been tracking since he debuted, then he did that wacky alternate dimension...the guys done it all basically, and he#s still going, be it a quieter role as of late. I think after al lthat it was nice to see a bit more normality for him to go to district x, but i would lvoe to see him get a decently big role following civil war, hes due it.
