On A & E's special on Superman that played early last week it seemed like a full show of Singer's documentry. But once I bought the DVD there was ton of extra footage that was deleted out for no strange reason.

1. Gail Simone explains why the " New Lois " became such a bitter angry woman. As DC had jumped on the feminist bandwagon at the time.

2. The new editor J. Swartz had came on and tried to make Superman relevent to jaded fans. Shown is his job as a reporter for WGBS and critics saying it was too glamerous for Clark Kent.

3. The downfall of the books are shown in the mid 80's as adults wanted a character who had depth. John Byrne's " Man of Steel " is detailed. How things were stripped down. By the end as its said that Byrne's exit caused books to fall...which lead to....

4. The engangement and Carlin detailing that he figured that as a reporter Lois was gonna figure it out sooner or later. So he went ahead and hooked them up. Women noticed the books as Lois got her man. Gail again chips in.

5. Extra time is spent detailing the 4 Superman movies and Superboy.

6. Extra time is spent on detailing Smallville and Christopher Reeve's sad passing and what an impact he had on people.

Anyone else notice this ?

You mean they put extra features on a DVD that they didn't have enough time to put on the air?

I am shocked, just shocked that this happened. :p

No not like DVD extras lol. Like they edited it out of the orginal thing. I'm watching it and wondering why a few things were edited out of the A & E show.

They were just edited for time. It was pretty much known when it aired on A&E that the DVD would be longer.
