That didn't do it for me.
But I cried buckets over Cloudbusting, or whatever it was called.

awww..lil' 17 yr old Kate . I havent seen that video in a long time ! Ive loved Kate since I was a kid..I went to boarding school in the U.K. and she was SO huge there in the late 70s thru the 80s. "Lionheart" in my favorite Kate album, anyone have favorite Kate Albums they like to share?
Cam63

Didn't she tour with George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers around '85 ?
I didn't think so.
I love those first two or three albums, but never kept up with her career after that. Wuthering Heights is one of her best songs, but the video doesn't entirely work for me, although I can see what she was going for.

The one with her dancing in an English field just after dawn on a freezing cold day worked better.
Apparently they did it in one or two takes, due to Kate starting to succumb to hypothermia.

I really should try out some of her more recent stuff.

That's what she said.
It was all an excuse to get another wet t-shirt pokey shot.

We digs da Katester. Some of the recent stuff's lost me because I miss the very rich, layered orchestration and engineering of the Hounds of Love - Sensual World era. This isn't unusual for me though, it's just my musical taste; a common trait in all my favorite music is deeply engineered, well-mixed, precision production.
Kate's a scifi, fantasy and comics fan. :)
Check out the brilliantly creepy EXPERIMENT IV song & video. There's even a reference to it in the first episode of The Venture Bros. season two, which should be airing... now-ish.
Kate's in the dedications to our books Born To Run and Chrome Circle.
The "Arlinay" painting on the gryphonking.com website gallery is a Kate pic.
I used to chat with her in the pre-/early-internet days on some of the CB Simulators and MU*s. Consistently sweet.
She's off busy bein' a Mom these days!

Oooh, I have the old VHS tape with the collection of her videos. Gotta love Kate.
There was a different video to Wuthering Heights, too, where she's outside somewhere, lotsa trees and stuff.
Edit: I see Cam already mentioned it.

I loved Hounds of Love and it gave me one of my best music snob moments. I was telling a friend how much I loved the album and she said 'I liked her better before she sold out.' I laughed and laughed. How could she have sold out if no one mainstream ever heard of her? Authenticity mattered to people back in the 80s, not like today with you kids and your fancy bands selling there tunes to the ad companys..... Dangit, dad gum dentures slipped...

Well, that's only in the US, Tancread. In other parts of the world, she was vastly more popular. But sold out? I don't see it.

Yeah, I was really surprised that my boyfriend had not heard of her. She's a huge deal here in Europe.

I've been a big Kate Bush fan since running into her music when I was in Scotland. I still have her Live at the Hammersmith Odeon VHS tape somewhere. Experiment IV was one of my favorite songs for a long time. I even turned it into a storyline I ran recently in my RPG game.

To this day I have kept the giant-sized vinyl singles of Running Up That Hill and Cloudbusting. Ah - memories.
Hmm. Just found a live version of Running Up That Hill with Bush and David Gilmour. Nice. Kate Bush Rocks!

One of my odd little hobbies is buying vinyl 45's(for those who do not know what they are, think CD Singles..on vinyl. I have several hundred of them, from the late 70s to the early 90s,when they started to be replaced by cd singles). One of my favorites is Running up that Hill,by Kate Bush, with the photo cover sleeve.
Great song, great singer. She also co-sang one of my favorite duets with Peter Gabriel as well.

She evidently has a good sense of humor too. In one of the Not The Nine O'Clock News shows she parodied herself, singing England, My Leotard. Rather amusing. I also have that on tape, though only audio.

I didn’t know who she was when she covered Rocket Man on the Elton John tribute album back in ’91. Fifteen years later, now I know.

Running Up That Hill was great.
I was always more of a Paul Weller-Jam/Style Council fan, but I had a crush on willowy Kate in high school.

Paul Weller sings a very nice duet version of the Jackson 5's "Wanna be where you are" on Carleen Anderson's new CD.
