The Canadian acoustic folk group The Cottars were on the rise in the music industry. The group is made up of two sets of brother-sister pairs.

You can check out some of the group's music at their Myspace Page. (http://www.myspace.com/cottars)

While they had a rising profile, it seems just as quick as that it's all over, and it appears that it's for a variety of soap opera storyline reasons.

By the way, neither the Myspace page or their official site (http://www.thecottars.com) have been updated to reflect the apparent breakup.

Sounds like the controlling parents of one sibling pair decided to either tank the Cottars rather than lose control, or decided to split the group so their own kids can go it themselves.

Like what I've heard on their MySpace page, shame...

Silly people....if your gonna have your son/daughter in a band like this its best to let the band explode into popularity and get rich. Then after 2 to 3 albums you take your kid solo. Now this way these kids will never be heard from again.
