Anyone else remember this guy? I just burned my copy of his Life in the Foodchain album to CD. That was an album I listened to almost constantly when I was reading comic books as a teen.

I can't remember any of the tunes off that album, but I know he cowrote some of the ARC Angels tunes with Charlie Sexton.

Interesting. His wikipedia page indicates that he's written a lot of songs for Sexton and others (e.g. Lucinda Williams) but there's not a lot of specific info out there on his career.
In terms of specific songs, "H-A-T-R-E-D" would fit in quite well in the "slam" thread. "The Ballad of the Night the Clocks All Quit (And the Government Failed)" is an eight-minute, Dylanesque surrealist epic (that's not half bad). The title track and "Funky Western Civilization" were minor hits in Boston when I was young.
