20 issues in and Marvel's hottest selling title is getting a face lift. This title has been loved and hated by many and has without a doubt had it's ups and downs. The team as we know it is already history with Cap and Tony on opposite sides of the war.
I personally found The Collective the best of the 5 arcs. The team really worked together in their own roles against a serious threat and it was pure old school superheroics.

I went with "Collective", as it actually showcased the whole team and contained a bigger threat than ninjas.
Had you included the annual, however, this poll would be a curbstomp. :)

In a differently-titled thread, I would imagine.

I am a big fan of Sentry, so I particularly enjoyed the Sentry arc. Breakout was a close second for me.

I picked breakout. Spidey baby! Though I also like Sentry and all the other arcs.

I really, really hated the Collective arc, particularly once Deodato started drawing it. I'm stunned it's currently leading in the voting.
I'm not even a huge Sentry fan, but I thought that arc was the tightest in terms of writing and art. Breakout was pretty good too. Ronin and the Collective both just sucked.

My sentiments as well. The ending to the collective was disappointing so i chose Breakout as well.

I voted for the Sentry because that was one of the few New Avengers stories about the characters themselves, and not the big action sequences; the human moments within the fantastical stories are what make the Marvel characters good, and The Sentry had a really good character arc with Bob coming to terms with himself.
However, most of the New Avengers stories haven't had much in-depth characterization, and without the humanity to give the scenes meaning, we're left with a bunch of big action scenes, snappy one-liners, and crazy plot twists that feel rather flat. The Collective has been dissapointing for this reason; for example, while I advocate the killing of Alpha Flight, I wish that we were given a reason to care about their demise other than " it made the Collective look stronger ".

I went with the Spider-Woman/Avengers go public choice because it actually played to Bendis' strength. It's funny that it's referred to as the Spider-Woman story because I don't even recall that much about her in it. It didn't make me sigh or roll my eyes at any blatant favoritism shown to Spider-Woman's power level/hero standing like the Breakout and Sentry arcs did at least (where she chumps Wolverine, who I don't even like but it was just that ridiculous, and stands up to the Wrecker single-handedly). I remember a really nice scene with Ms. Marvel and Captain America (as much as I'm apparently not a fan of Bendis, I give credit where credit's due and this was a very interesting scene to me) and a lot of tension placed on Spidey going public and getting him and Jonah to shake hands.
My second choice would be Ronin as the Breakout and Collective story had a bunch of splash pages with no dialogue or narration and a ton of big shots of cities and buildings and thbbbbbbtttttt. And Sentry is just too damn confusing.

I went with Breakout since it had the formation of the team (most of them anyway), the Savage Land stuff and pretty much establishing both the status quo and sub-plots running long enough to keep the title with a purpose even after Civil War.
I was going to pick the Collective arc initially as it started out very strong and got better with every issue but the Magneto/Xorn thing really put me off to that resolution. Had Bendis just let the Collective touch down on Genosha, give Mags his powers back and have the NA defeat him it would have felt less like tieing up old plots and more focused on the newer stuff but that being said, the Collective arc would tie with the Sentry one for 2nd place.

I'd say between Breakout and Sentry. Breakout was cool but could have been deeper/made more snese, and Sentry was resolved in much the same fashion, but Sentry brought the sentry back and made him interesting.

I loved The Sentry arc, but I gotta go with the storyline that had the best emotional impact and the best art, Spider-Woman/Secret And Lies/The Avengers Go Public

My vote is breakout, the collective is probably second since the sentry actually functions as part of the team...I wish we could get at least two more arcs out of this team before the mix-up.

"The Sentry" story-arc...
...but "New Avengers Annual #1" is the best story (IMHO) of the Avengers-Bendis era

I loved "Spider-Woman" the best.
Great story, great art, great interactions, plus Ms Marvel and Klaw.
My favorite arc (and the Annual was great also)

I'm stunned at the votes for your favorite. I thought the Collective was indecipherable, poorly drawn (under Deodato), and about two issues longer than it actually needed to be. The Spider-woman and Sentry arcs, in contrast, were tightly written, well drawn, and told a story in a concise amount of time.

I loved the Sentry and Spider-Woman arcs because of the uncharacteristically to-the-point (for Bendis) writing and because the art by Cho and McNiven was fantastic and clear.

Breakout, for me is the ****. Good old fashioned punch up, and it did a great job of introducing everybody under credible circumstances. The Cage beating of Purpleman..... absolutely golden.
I went for the Spider-Woman/Avengers go Public arc, though it was a close call between that and Breakout. Mostly there are bits and pieces of each issue I liked. The banter between Luke Cage and Spider-Man, for example, has been golden all the way through the series.
I really just did not like the Collective arc: Alpha Flight's demise off panel (perhaps because otherwise they'd have to explain why the Shaman didn't just drop the Collective into another dimension or something), one issue having so many splash pages that it lost all impact and instead became annoying, and once again the New Avengers need help. It just didn't sail with me.
