Nice job on the logo. Too bad about the car.

Luckily, everything to fix it can be found on eBay. :p

HAHAHAHAHAHA!:D

I find it odd that someone who had a Hellboy logo painted onto their car
wouldn't have come to this forum to post a picture when it was new.
Figure if ya Google Hellboy that the website would come up along with the
forum link. Hmmm...

I was having the same thought. Hehe

oh, pfffft! It's obvious... Nick has this car, white, kind of a boxey design, and it got killed so he painted a red "X" on it. Then someone on e-bay saw it and offered him a lot of money.... and Otto thought it was really funny that someone on e-bay would think a red "X" looks like a hellboy logo.

see? hahaha red "X" sigh

I was thinking the same thing, so I looked at the code of Otto's posting. There is an img link of http://misheli.image.pbase.com/u48/wyk/large/35482753.Hellboy.jpg
that for some reason is not showing up for me in Firefox, Opera, or Netscape.

In IE, it shows as a little "broken image" icon, but for the other browsers, there's no broken image indicator, so I wouldn't have even know it was there without looking at code.

However, I cut and paste the URL in and the image shows up-- might be a glitch with CBR, but more likely it is a "no-remote hosting" image.

In any case, try to cut and paste the URL above.

Well... um... there should have been an image in the first post.
It was of a blue car, what had the Hellboy logo on its hood with
a Texas license plate. The car had been in an accident and the hood
was damaged. A search on Ask.com should lead ya right to it.

Hack Wilson is the ebay name of a Hellboarder from Texas.
And.. hey... OWW... who the hell are you guys? No... wait.. I was just.......
(NOTE:THE EXPLAINATION FOR THIS POST HAS BEEN FOUND TO
BE NONSENSICAL AND THE POSTER HAS BEEN DEALT WITH.)

HA!

Thanks, jnapper. Nothing showed up in my browser (Firefox) so it just looked like Otto and Nick were communicating telepathically or in secret code. :)

Yeah...I've been wondering about this thread all week (also on Firefox). :)

Naw, when ya read Nick's mind the only thing that comes up
is "Lone Star".:D

Whew! I thought this thread was part of some obscure Da-Vinci-Code-type puzzle.

If it's real, the logo was probably just printed onto vinyl and cut out (I used to work at a sign shop, and that's how we did it). You can put just about any image on a car that way...you could easily put Petersen's entire Mouse Guard walking across the roof, or a huge rutabaga on the hood. Sweet!

I put Space Invaders on mine (http://www.phobe.com/invaders.jpg)

Sparky?
So a comic page could be blown-up and printed to vinyl?

Sure*. It's basically just a big ol' printer that prints onto a roll of vinyl, then cuts it out with a little computer-controlled blade. I have a small 18" printer/cutter, but sign shops have really big ones. The vinyl and ink are rather costly, though, so it's not cheap to do (I generally only cut stuff out of solid-color vinyl, as the print cartridges are so $%#?@ing expensive).

But yeah, technically, you could cover your entire car with an entire issue of Flaming Carrot if you wanted to, provided you left a small space in the front windshield so you could see out to drive.

*with permission of the copyright holder, of course.

AAAAH I HAVE DRIVEN THIS THREAD OFF A CLIFF AND INTO A HORRIFIC DISCUSSION OF SIGNMAKING TECHNIQUES

Thanks Jonell for clearing up that confusion regarding the pic.

Nice Hellboy movie logo! Car needs some body work though. :D

Not to worry. It's an OT thread and your info helps to explain just
how the car-owner could have had it done.
But my first thought was that it was a paint job. And wouldn't that
be cheaper than vinyl?
