Hullo my luvlies its been a while since I made a post so I figured now is as good as any time. Recently I have fallen in love with the work of an artist/writer known as Ted McKeever. I am not certain if any of you here are familiar with him, he's worked on such things a Transit, Eddy Current, Metropol, Superman: Metropolis, The Matrix Comics Volume 1, Industrial Gothic and Plastic Forks. In short, I absolutely adore him and his twisted urban landscapes and dark, spiritual themes. His style reminds me much of Mr Mingnola in that its very basic yet complex and signature. Hmmph, I really don't have much more to say except its wonderful, or at least I think so, and ya'll should check the bloke out if the opportunity presents itself. I must be going now, futbol on the telly.

I read Industrial Gothic when it first came out and I dug it. Other than that, it would be on a case by case basis with his stuff...I kinda of equated him to Bill Sienkiewicz's stuff in the eighties...very artsy when artsy wasn't cool and definitely full of that painterly energy that many didn't appreciate back then...

Been reading Ted's stuff since Eddy Current. Loved Metropol and Plastic Forks was...interesting. Read a few Elsewheres but nothing has peaked my interest since. Didn't like his Angels book, felt like a re-hash of Metroplo.

I've been a fan of his stuff since the early 90s. But he shouldn't be doing superhero books. Just doesn't work with his style..

As often happens Rick, I completely agree with you here. I'm not a huge fan of Ted's stuff, but I can see the talent that goes into the crafting of his artwork. Superheroes though, I feel, require a certain sensibility that Ted's artwork doesn't seem to match up with. That's not necessarily a bad thing though, as variety in the comic book marketplace is vital. In other words, for every X-this or that, we need at least two Stray Toasters. :D
