I was wondering what the best series of Wonder Woman was?? I read on here that the 80's Bryne (im not sure if thats correct) run was the best. If someone could please just tell me the run that would be a great help.

And about GL Corps #1 i didnt read a review of it yet is it worth picking up??

Byrne's run was in v2 from #100-136. Perez rebooted the series after Crisis with issue #1 and is still well regarded to this day. IIRC, Perez did the first 50 issues but I may be wrong.

GLC #1 was a good starting point. I like Guy Gardner so I'll be picking up issue #2.

Most people tend to be fans of the post-Crisis Wonder Woman, and they'll tell you that George Perez's run is the best.

I think the Messner-Loebs run was better.

I think the best overall run was the original by Marston and Peter. Marston was really the only one who could write Wonder Woman.

Byrne's run was in the '90s. Issue #101 to somewhere around #140, I think. Although I've always admired Byrne's art, his storytelling dragged it down (IMO) and I was surprised some pages managed to have any art peeking out from under the word balloons.;) Byrne did some screwy things during his run and I seem to remember more of the Byrne/Demon back-up stories than I do of the Wonder Woman issues. He did introduce us to Cassie as Wonder Girl, though.

Perez's run on Wonder Woman, *technically*, ran for 60+ issues, if you include his move from drawing to writing/drawing to just writing. I think there's 4 volumes of TPs now for Perez's run, which I tihnk made Wonder Woman into a much more viable DCU character than she'd been in years (decades?). I think those take readers to the end of the Perez-art issues.

GLC #1 was a pleasant surprise for me. I hadn't read the 'GLC: Recharge' limited series yet, but picked it up as a package deal at my local shop after reading this issue. I'm looking forward to continuing reading the storyline.

I would rank them:

Rucka
Perez
Marston
Jimenez
Luke
Byrne
Messner-Loebs
Simonson*

*only reason he's last is that WW wasn't herself till the last issue. GREAT and FUN story though.

There are very few WW trades and Elseworlds. Pick up them all. Also pick up the jaw dropping Superman vs WW statue. It is gorgeous and the detailing is SICK!

Print a copy of that list and put it away someplace safe.

Wait five or six months from today.

Then get the list back out and write Gail Simone's name at the top in huge letters.
