Hey gang,

Come meet Mike Mignola at the Comic Bug this Saturday from 2:30 to 5:00. He'll be signing copies of Conan #29 as well as Hellboy and other works from his rich history.

Earlier that day, Paul DeMeo and Danny Bilson (writing team from "The Flash") will be signing.

Just got back from The Comic Bug.

Mike was very cool and gracious. He signed a couple of copies of Conan for me (they had lots of his variant cover), and kicked off the sketchbook I am taking to SDCC with a quick Hellboy.

And he assured me that "Pan's Labyrinth" is indeed as amazing as he stated here earlier, adding that Doug Jones is excellent in it.

Oh yeah, as far as the SDCC sketchbook goes, expect "lots of monsters".

The Comic Bug is also a great shop - worth the drive. A great staff (helped me find some issues of Ellis' "Fell" when I was wandering all around, and also seem to have a lot of great events (Frank Espinosa is signing his amazing Rocketo book next month).

Thank you for the report, Milk!

It's really neat that Mike does local signings at the comic shop not far from his house. Gosh, makes me wish I lived closer, so that I could check out that shop and see what all the hub-bub is about. :)

A great time was had by all!

Thanks again to Mr. Mignola for taking the time to come out and meet the fans. He's always so nice to the folks that show up to meet him.

And thank YOU guys for coming out and supporting. This board seems to be pretty tight-knit and friendly compared to some of the other boards I've run across out there-a real class act all the way around!

Finally, if ya'll haven't yet, check out Conan #29, quite possibly the Ruuuurpiest Barbarian tale ever written!

Thanks for hosting these events! One of these days I'll make it out and see Mike myself. Thankfully SDCC is right around the corner though, so I can do my glad handing then. :D

Anyone around Manhattan Beach should pick up the newest issue of the Easy Reader (the local entertainment/happenings/real estate paper). There's a BIG cover story on Mike Mignola! Another comic book coup for the South Bay!

For those of us who are unable to obtain this periodical, can anyone share the details of the article? Pictures also if possible would be greatly appreciated! :D
