Going off of Rags' impromptu Ten Commandments quiz, let's see how many amendments in the US Bill of Rights posters can name. Use spoiler text, order is not important, and paraphrasing is okay.
As a counterpoint, please also name the Nine Companions of the Fellowship of the Ring.

Oooh good one, lets see
There's no way I can get them in order but here's what I remember
You have the right to bare arms
You have the freedom to assemble
You have the right to freedom of speech
You have the right to a speedy trial
Freedom of the Press
um, isn't won't be forced to have soldiers in your home in there?
Okay that's all I can think of.
as for the companions...Frodo Baggens, Samwise Gangee, Pippin, Merry, Aragon, my man Gimli, Legolas, Gandolf the Grey (later Galdolf the White), and whatshisbucket...oh damnit, what is his name Rally's going to kill me for not knowing the last guy's name

These, I know. Well, one set of them.
Amendments:
1. Freedom of religion (and a promise to make no laws establishing it), speech, press, assembly and petition.
2. Freedom for gun ownership and militia stuff!
3. Freedom from unwanted houseguests of a military persuasion.
4. Freedom from unreasonable searches and seisures.
5. Freedom to not incriminate oneself, due process, and no double jeopardy.
6. Freedom to speedy trial and other fair trial stuff I'm forgetting.
7. Right to a jury trial and other stuff.
8. No cruel and unusual punishments.
9. So, some rights... just because we didn't explicitly list 'em doesn't mean you don't got 'em.
10. Anything not specifically discussed in the constitution and its amendments becomes jurisdiction of the states and the people.
Nine Companions of the Fellowship of the Ring:
No idea.
I'm a bad nerd.
Like, really bad.
I read the HOBBIT once.
I kind of liked it.
Started the others.
Bored me a lot.
Never even watched the movies.

I'll give it a whirl.
Gandalf
Gimli
Legolas
Strider/Aragorn
Frodo
Sam Gamgee
Merriwell
Pippin
Sean Bean's character-blanking on the name
Freedom of Speech
The Right to Bear Arms
Unlawful Search & Seizure
Against Cruel and Unusual Punishment
Habeas Corpus?
The other ones are mostly filler anyway.
For that matter, I'm not a fan of the right to bear arms. Sure, I'm in favor of every red-blooded American to have firearms in their possession at all time....but the wording sets a dangerous precedent regarding bears.
Bears are godless killing machines. They have no rights.

4 Amendments, 8 Companions.
Assembly, speech, and the press are all covered in one Amendment. Speedy trial is part of the sixth, and good enough for credit. And Boromir was the 9th Companion.

Never even watched the movies.Ed becomes the first poster with the double distinction of naming all 10 Amendments and none of the Fellowship.
For the record, the 7th Amendment only covers the right to a jury trial in civil cases. Criminal jury trial is covered in the 6th.

8.5/9 on the Fellowship, 4/10 on the Amendments.
Sean Bean played Boromir; I'll give you half credit for thinking of the right guy. Habeas Corpus is assured within the body of the Constitution, in Article I, Section 9.

Amendments schmamendments...
The first one concerns freedom of speech, which shouldn't be impeded;
The second one is about the right to bear arms, not to be infringed;
The fifth says you can't be forced to testify against yourself...
Er... That's it. I'm Canadian, dammit! We don't HAVE amendments!
I may know a few ones without their numbers:
Something about not being submitted to cruel or unusual punishment;
Something about not making laws about religion (hence the church and state divide);
Something about not being tried twice for the same thing;
I'm grasping at straws, here.
And proof that I'm closer to being a nerd than a good American citizen:
Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Meriadoc Brandybuck, Peregrin Took, Aragorn son of Arathorn; Boromir son of Denethor; Gimli son of Gloin; Legolas son of Thranduil and Gandalf the grey. They were also accompanied by a pony named Bill.

Four Amendments, 9 Companions, and I'm going to give you a cookie for Bill.

Religion and speech are both covered by the First Amendment, and protection from double jeopardy and self-incrimination are both part of the Fifth. Not that it stops Alex Trebek; the man is a law unto himself.

Alex Trebek is Canadian, and therefore isn't bound by the Bill of Rights, or the rights of Bill for that matter

A surprisingly low 7 for Mr. Smash.
You left out 7, civil trial by jury, and 9, the non-exclusive amendment. You also got 10 backwards; it reserves rights NOT given to the federal government to the states.
You got the whole Fellowship, though.

Urg, it's been too long, I can only remember the three obvious ones.
1st: Free speech/press
2nd: Bear arms etc.
5th: Not incriminate oneself
I'm going to read the other responses and kick myself and claim it was too early in the morning and the sun was in my eyes.
As for LOTR companions, well, let's just say more than three and leave it at that.

Amendments 1 through 10: The ERA.
Shut up. I'll retcon whatever I darn well want to. I don't tell you not to have your dreams.
Urm, search and seizure, freedom of religion and speech, some damn thing about state powers, public trial, double jeopardy, cruel and unusual punishment, and arming bears.

And it took me more time to figure out the stupid spoiler tags....
P.S.
