What is the best way to mail comic books? I'm about to get rid of some, but I don't know if there is a perfect envelope to use or what. Would I get the packaging materials from the post office or from my LCS? Etc, etc.
Thanks in advance to anyone in the know.

When I used to ship comics, I would bag and board each one separately, wrap the stack in a plastic bag, cut a cardboard box to fit the comics exactly, tape up the box and then wrap the whole thing in manilla shipping paper. It's also a good idea to sandwiched your boarded comics when 2 or 3 extra boards on each side of the stack. This goes a long way towards preventing punctures do to careless handling by postal workers.
You can get sturdy carboard boxes for free at some grocery stores, and they protect comics a lot more than the flimsy magazine-size boxes sold at the post office. getting a large carboard box to fit a stack of comics takes a little time (you have to cut and score the box to the correct dimensions), but it's a lot cheaper than buying the Post-office's alternative.
I've done this dozens of times in the process of selling comics over Ebay, and never once had a package damaged in the mail. If done right, you comic package will be puncture resistant, and virtually bend-proof. It works really well for packages of 10-100 comics.
