I was watching gamehead I think like two weeks ago and they previewed it. Wow, the game looks so good. I can't wait for it.

I dunno, I'll probably wait 'till it's twenty bucks or borrow it from someone. The first one was okay, but not all that spectacular.

Yeah my buddy bought the first one...the game is great but nothing I'd fork out $50 bones for when it first came out.

I am glad I got it for 20 bucks. I think it was a great bang for a buck I ever spent. It was a really fitting price.

Has anyone beat God Mode in the first God of War and if so what were the two secret messages?

How did Kratos find out that Zues is his father and why does he want to kill him?

Did you really beat God Mode to get the two secret messages?

This was suggested at the part where Kratos is about to find Pandora's Box and there is an picture on the floor which shows a Mortal battling Zues and they tell you its a picture from the future.

Kratos finds out who his father is by going to the bedside of his dying mother. After she tells him she turns into a monster and he has to kill her.

Well did you?

Well did you?

No, I didn't, they're on youtube. I've only played past The Hydra in God mode.

Actually, it's not impossible, but because you have to play conservatively it takes a lot longer. Much easier than Dante Must Die because the dodge roll enables you to avoid almost every attack.

By the way, I have a tip for fighting Aeris' 3rd form (the hard one). Wait for him to approach you. When he approaches you, he swings once and then roars. If you attack immediately after blocking his swing (i.e. when he's just started to roar) you'll get him off balance and get into a circle tapping contest. This makes the final battle very easy -- you just repeat this three times to win.

I hope GoW2 has more replay value than GoW. With the exception of unlocking a few extras, there's no incentive to play God Difficulty, let alone anything higher than Mortal.

Unlocking extras and a greater challenge. What other reason is there to play on a higher difficultly level?

I wish I'd played it in Spartan to make it last longer, but the alleged "difficulty" of this game was talked-up so much that I thought it might actually be pretty hard. But it was easier than Devil May Cry 3.

GoW never had a rep for being especially hard. Most people I've heard have said the opposite

I'd heard it was extremely tough, but it's not. The difficulty is pretty ordinary -- if I'd known, I'd have done it on Spartan.

The thing is, it's not cheap. If you play properly you can fight without getting hit. Even with the bosses. After I worked out how to do it, it was possible to defeat Aeris' 3rd form without getting hit.

Plus, from what I've played of God Mode it seems as if you don't have to face new attacks or combos, or even new button combinations.

I did like that you don't have to hammer the circle button any harder in God mode. Take note, Metal Gear franchise.

But as a Space Channel 5 addict I would have liked to see more elaborate button press challenges.

Well, I've beaten the game on normal and Spartan, now I'm working on God mode. I've completed "The Challenge of the Gods" and I will take this moment to say, that sucks hard!! Good lord, it took me a long time to beat that, some of the tests are just obscene, the last test (10) I must have died at least 150 times. Back to the point though, once you beat the Hydra in God mode, it gets much harder, the damage you recieve is heavy. I've probably put 5 hours play time into it but my save file is only like 2 and a half because there are parts that are just a complete bitch.

I can't wait for the second one, if its half as good as the first I'll love it, GoW is easily one of my favorite games of all time.

Do the bosses and enemies have new attacks in God mode though?

Yes, I've done Challenge of the Gods, too. The last one's very tough. My two strategies were to spam Lance of the Furies and to block and then counter to knock the Anubis off the platform.

No, they don't seem to have any new moves but the AI seems to increase as well as their damage ratio. Battles become far more strategic in God mode, I'm a fairly impatient person, so having to hold block until you get an opening has always been annoying, but at many times you HAVE to in God mode. Blocking and dodging are extremely important, especially keeping yourself from getting surrounded, cause if you do and let of block they will fuck you up. Its been pretty difficult so far.
