It is not Blue Beetle either. John Rogers says he would raise the alarm if it was in danger of being cancelled.
it will probably be Manhunter or Shadowpact.
Or Birds of Prey?
Sigh, why not Aquaman? I REALLY tried to give that book a shot with the new creative team, but i was so lost i had no idea who was whom and what was going on and if that was really Aquaman or not.
Gave up very quickly.

1) My issues with the Amazing Amazon's treatment in Vol. 3 are not worth re-iterating.
2) See #1.
3) Amazons Attack! Wow. This sucks. And I have no idea how it could be salvaged. I'm not saying it can't be, from a plot standpoint, I just can't see how. Maybe Pfeifer will surprise me. The only reason I am continuing on with this trainwreck is because of Kara and Cassie.
4) Kelly and Churchill both leaving Supergirl. *sigh* I don't care what anyone says, this was a fav of mine while the two of them were working on it.
5) Greg Rucka being removed from WW last Feb. He clearly had more story to tell, had plans, etc. I know *why* it happened, but I don't have to like it.
6) Civil War. Good lord, what a debacle, and an insulting one at that.

It makes more sense that it is a DC title because Gail would be more privy to creative processes at DC than at Marvel. That said, anything is possible.

just because I'm in a bitter mood today I'll piss and moan a little more. DC's advertising department.....Jesus, I do more work promoting their company than they do. THey sit their now and try to compete with Marvel (And yes. a lot of the dreck they are putting out these days is out of trying to compete with marvel. I mean look how it went from being about the writers being able to tell good stories to the magic of event event event. quick make this tie-in.....event tie-in event. used to be I remember when almost every book in the line was written fantastically. nowdays my pull went from 90 books total to 12. I'm just not liking it as much and it's due to DC trying to be Marvel. which they aren't and will never be. so stop crossing over every book, let your writers tell their own stories, and make DC fun again. Because you are running out of titles for me to read. (How long until Booster pops up in the actual Jonah Hex title) Same problem with Marvel right now. Civil war was the epitomy of this and drove me batshit crazy....saved me a lot of money too.....Gooooooo Annihilation....wow..I got off on a tagent....I'm all ranty and filled with bile today that I lose track of my own thoughts....but yeah DC's advertising.....I'm not a huge marvel fan. in fact right now I would say I am even more bitter with them than I am with DC. (DC I do it out of love....marvel out of indifference) But marvel is great at whoring their stuff. getting out there. Joey Q and writers getting on tv, getting the mainstream media to pay attention. at least when MArvel does it it comes off as them trying to et people into shops....when DC does it it's....HEY LOOK AT US>>>>WE MADE A LESBIAN BAT CHARACTER!!!!!!

I'm continuing to read JLA/JSA on momentum alone. If it don't pick up soon, I'm dropping them.
WHY continue to dick with character's backstories? Wolverine, the Beyonder... why can't they just write GOOD, current stories with them? Why retcon?

Good luck Chris...Mogo needs you.

I would come close to after straight shooter was released....you want ranting wild anger....you should have seen me after that.....or the first issue of the warlord revamp.....It's not often that I completely lose controll to the ranting violent uncontrollable anger but when it happens.....whooooo boy.....to quote Bendis.....I break the fuckin internet in half.....my anger is felt everywhere. even pron sites start posting pictures of clothed emo depressed angry kids

no Mogo would never have anything to do with Ego who suspiciously looks exactly like John Byrne (Thank you Bendis for that nugget of hilarity)
THe only thing Mogo regrets is being involved with that whore Ranx. Why do you think Ranx hates al green lanterns....because mogo realized Ranx was a douchebag and sent Ranx away.....Ranx doesn't hate Green Lanters. Ranx is just jealous that someone else has the great lord and could never give up the love that was had for the great lord

One story I've heard backs this up. DC's PR department sounds incredibly rubbish, and seems to have a strange way of thinking about Marvel. If the impression I've been given is remotely true then it's definitely vent-worthy.

I'm in a funny mood so if the below doesn't make a lot of sense then I apologise.
1) The Boys - I got it from the start, and I've read what Stressfactor wrote. I too am a fan of Ennis, I have the entire run of Hitman and his first appearance in Bloodlines and I'm a fan of his work. Same with Preacher, came to the party late but really love it.
After a break from The Boys whilst it moved to Dynamite, I had time to re-read the first few and they were good, but issue 7 was just.....meh. I struggled to read it, I sort of enjoyed it, but I don't know, it left me a little cold. I think I might have gone off it and maybe it has gone a step too far. I think I'm going to give it a few more issues, but the constant sex on almost every page is kinda off-putting in a way. I get it, it's an adult satire, but do we need to see blowjobs, prossies and tits on every page.
2) Countdown and 52 are upsetting me, and here's why. I'm not invited to the party. I didn't get 52, due to cost and also the characters involved weren't enough to pull me in. Same with Countdown. The story and content don't appeal, but now I'm not in the club, because so many (not all) of the DC books are tied to these big events, and because it forms the backbone of the DCU for the next year, AGAIN. So I'm left with slim pickings, books on the fringe, or I move over to Wildstorm and Vertigo. I love a lot of the characters in the DCU, but the books just aren't there for me right now. The new Booster series appeals, and I'll give it a try but I've not come across anything else new (as in spun out of 52) that's got me excited. These two have made me a DC outsider, and I'm getting less DC books now than ever before, and I've been reading comics a fair while.
3) Batman - he's becoming the Wolverine of the DCU. He's in every book it seems. Enough! You're going to make me dislike him and start to roll my eyes whenever I see him, and I don't want that because he is one of my favourite comic characters of all time.

Everyone has their own take on Civil War, and I've been rebuked for my opinion by Barry for this (but what good is a comic book debate without some good ol' fashion objurgation).
I'm not a long time reader of comics. Relatively speaking, I'm quite new to it all.
I didn't understand Civil War. It was supposed to be a mini-series (some tried to give it The Watchmen status) that one could read by itself. All those tie-in comics were supplemental and not needed. So I didn't bother reading them, because I just wanted the "meat and potato" story. What I ended up getting was a lot of loose ends and unexplained references. It wasn't fun.
In comparison, I don't know who Ice was in BoP. But it didn't matter because the hook was delivered in a way that someone like me, who doesn't remember her, knew this was a big deal just by the reactions by the other characters and the plot reveals within the story. I got it. And that's fun.

Crisis on Infinite Earths. 'Nuff said. It was like the writers were out of ideas and said "let's just shit on years of continuity". Then tried to pretty up their mess with the excuse "we're trying to simplify the multiple universes.. it was too confusing...".
Yet today, with Elseworld's stories and a slow return to multiple earth scenario's... I guess they realized they were WRONG.
Wish we could just go back and say "bad idea... try something else".

I can't stand all the gore in DC comics these days. Every story I've read published at DC in the last couple of years (outside the Superman titles) has had at least one instance of explicit completely gratuitous gore in it. Limbs ripped, faces torn off, teenagers being eaten alive; I may be misremembering, but I thought we were promised a lighter DC that was more fun after IC.
And the current Supergirl, I hate. My rant from another thread:
All 18 issues of Supergirl. And while it wasn't as bad as i expected, it's certainly not good. What bothered me most were the changes to her origin. The angsty stuff and not knowing where to fit in doesn't bother me so much, the character is fairly new and that makes sense. It feels like they're dragging it out at this point and it really needs to be tied up, as at this point she's been on Earth for over a year in universe, but meh. It's not awful. But the stuff with her back on Kyrpton, what the hell? She killed her own mother. Why was that necessary? The fact that her entire planet is gone isn't dark enough? They have to go and grim-n-gritty up even that?
"Oh, no, it's sad that every one she knows is dead and all, but what's even sadder is if she and her father killed their whole neighborhood because they were possessed by demons, and then every one else died! Also, we fucked with her memories. AND she's been brainwashed into being an assassin out to get Superman.
So now she's like half Superman, half Wolverine, and all sexay!"
And the last issue, jeez. It's 22 pages of Joe Kelly saying "My Supergirl is awesome and realistic and if you like the old version better you're a stupidface!"
I really don't like where they've gone with the character. And Joe Kelly was so damned good on Action and JLA.

Some random thoughts:
Batgirl (Cass) - Everyone finds out she's gone evil and all of a sudden it's "Why did that happen. DC sucks!".
Supergirl - see Batgirl but swap evil for boring.
Identity / Infinite Crisis & War Crimes / Games - What, you thought DC was all sunshine and laughter?
Bart as Kid Flash - Where is the problem here?

Announcing the cancellation of Blade 2 weeks after the release of the first trade. Let the title survive for a few more issues to see if that helps sales rather than kill it dead without seeing what is due to happen. Worked for Spider-Girl and Manhunter, why not for Blade as well??
Having to wait a month for 52 issue 52 due to DHL, or whoever sendng my LCS's package of weekly comics to a different shop in another part of the country , and refusing to accept liability for it despite it being a clear mistake their part.

I didn't like it because it seems like they crapped on every character involved in it. I'm not a fan who cries "Cap would never...", but when Cap and Iron Man and Spidey and Reed and most of the others all start going off-character, I stop caring.
CW was a great idea for an elseworlds story, they could've really cut loose, made the characters more interesting and dealt with the consequences. As it is, cloning Thor and killing Black Goliath (if it had been an elseworlds they could've killed Hank Pym. Or Reed.) will have no consequences. In 2 years all will be forgotten.
Also, CW is afflicted with what I call 'Infinite Crisis Syndrome". This is when your hundred issue event series ends with... another hundred issue event series. The resolution is inconclusive and muddled. It seems the longer these things go on, the more unlikely it is that things will be resolved in a definitive way.
Finally, CW seemed terribly self -important and serious as well as preachy, and these features made it more like a tv-movie-of-the-week than a comic book.

I'm really disappointed in Countdown. I had a lot of enthusiasm for the series, despite my trepidation over the Mary Marvel storyline. Unfortunately the first three issues were really, really poor. Plus the death of Lightray really ticked me off.
I know Dini is saying to be patient and that it'll all get cool eventually, but I'd rather spend $2.99 a week on a book that'll actually leave me satisfied. The novelty of buying a weekly-shipping series is not enough to make up for weak content.

Raising Oliver Queen from the dead only to murder and defame is character with 10,000 cuts. Having him cheat on Dinah after getting a fresh start was unforgiveable for GA fans, and BC fans alike.
Nice call, DC Comics. Nothing like biting the hands that feed then taking a shit in the wound.

People really don't understand the Hulk. Calling him "evil" is such an unjust, oversimplification of the character. Some people just can't wrap their heads around the moral ambiguity of the character.

Hulk is just really dumb. I think calling him evil is twisting the book to fit the writers little shock agenda. Also, I'm a broken record.

Amazons Attack is a bad idea on so many levels.
Everything involved in WW3.
Killing Steph and leaving us with a less interesting Robin (sorry Tim fans).
Cass Cain's personality taking an unbelievable U-turn.
Dr. Light 1 never being adequately punished.
Morrison's Seven Soldiers not getting more use.
Ollie cheating on Dinah after coming back from the dead an "improved" man.
Dinah getting back with Ollie out of nowhere.
