If you live in LA, you should definitely check out some of the Hammer films they're showing at the Egyptian Theatre this weekend as part of their "Golden Age of British Horror, 1955-1975." They're great flicks, and Mike has often cited them as one of his many influences on Hellboy. GDT also cites Terrence Fisher, Hammer's best director, as a big influence. Last night they showed two of Fisher's Frankenstein movies, and tonight (Friday) are the two best Christopher Lee Dracula movies (IMHO), Fisher's "Horror of Dracula" (1958) and 1970's "Taste the Blood of Dracula." Check out the whole schedule here: http://egyptiantheatre.com/archive1999/2006/BritishHorror.htm. There are a lot of Hellboyish movies, like "The Devil Rides Out" and "Curse of the Demon."
