Kan-Man

Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I just read an interview with Howard Chaykin (on Newsarama) and he mentions that when Gil Kane first drew (created?) Guy Gardner, he based him on Martin Milner (of Adam-12 fame). I thought that was a cool piece of information.
Which lead me to think about something that's been bothering me lately...
This is supposed to be Gregory Peck, right? It's from a recent cover of Detective Comics.

And finally, does anyone remember the hoax a few years back that said that Orson Welles tried to put together a Batman movie in the 40s? It even went as far as casting the film (James Cagney was the Riddler, I think). Even though it was a crock, it was pretty well thought out.
