Are they still running Superman storyarcs through multiple titles? I am interested in picking up a Superman book, but I dont have the dough to pick up multiple books to get one storyline :( If its more self contained now, which title is recommended?

And I am not interested in All Star Superman, though the praise makes me tempted. I am a dedicated Morrison/Quitely unappreciater ;)

Busiek and Johns are currently finishing up the "Up, Up and Away" storyline in Actions Comics and Superman. Those are currently the only two Superman titles outside of All-Star. The storyline is decent (and some people seem to really like it), but I still think you should at least take a glance at an All-Star Superman issue. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and it doesn't have the overly dark, complex, and weird overtones that often go along with Morrison's writing (not that I dislike these qualities). If anything, it's a nod back to the classic late 1950s Superman.

There's one month left in the Up, Up and Away Storyline running through Action & Superman. Once that ends the books split and will not cross over. Kurt Busiek & Pacheo will be on Superman from then on out, with one of the Kubert bros on Action with a writer to be named. Also they are going to be starting up Superman: Confidential soon which will be a seperate title that will tell stories from differant time periods in Superman's continuity.

So really, you have a month to wait and then you can start picking up any of them. Up, Up, and Away is going to be collected in a tpb fairly soon after it wraps up, so you can check that out to get the new status quo for the books if you want. It's a great storyline.

Then there's ALSO Superman-Batman, which is really a Superman book, with Batman in it.

Think of it as a Batman book, with Robin in every issue, with Superman in the lead.
