Huge fan of the series. Both my mom and I got addicted to it after my sister told us about it. First episode I saw was when Vince and the gang went to Comicon. Then I borrowed the Season 1 DVD set from my sister. After that, I was hooked.

I was in Weswood a month or so back, and they were shooting "the Aquaman premiere" for the show. I watched for awhile, got to see a bunch of the cast members, and helped a rather hapless papparazi attempt to get some decent pictures. The guy had no idea who half the cast was, or what/whom he should be shooting. :p

I love Entourage! I've only seen Season 1 (at a friend's and then on DVD). I'm getting the Season 2 box set tomorrow (which is when it's released!). We just got HBO for The Sopranos (which I don't watch), but we're keeping it for Entourage Season 3.

Ari's the man, if it wasn't for him I probably would not be watching it. Vinny and the gang get out of trouble a little to easily for me, but I guess that's hollywood.

Yeah Ari is easily my favorite character on the show. And I think Jeremy Pivan is a very underrated actor and should have won some emmys by now for this role.

I also like Drama. I find it very funny when he brings up stuff he did 10 years ago and tries to live off that only to get shot down.

If you like Piven, check out Keeping Up With the Steins. It's a flawed film, but he and the entire cast are quite good in it. There are some similarities to "Entougrage." It's a kind of view of Ari's home-life!

Yeah I like the new direction they are going with his character. Having to start over and build a company on his own. But still keeping him the same loveable sexist, racist, but meaning well asshole he always was.

Pimp yo film, man! Pimp yo film!

Loved Ari's meltdown during the blackouts. Him smashing Lloyd's figurine was priceless!

I don't know how much more I can take of "accessible Vince", though. It's still cool to extent, hanging out with the high schoolers and going to a theater with the public, but eventually he's gonna have to cut himself off a bit.

I laughed so hard when Ari saw Lloyd shifting in his sit and he said " Why are you sitting like that?" " Seriously are you wearing a buttplug?".

Another good episode. I knew Dom did it, but he wasn't nearly as hateable in this episode as he was in the last. Also, I'm loving any and all Ari/Lloyd interaction. Just hilarious.

The only thing I don't like is that things are going too easily now that Vince is Hollywood's Golden Boy the tension that existed in earlier episodes isn't really there. Hopefully the upcoming episodes can bring that "underdog" feel back.

I think we will be seeing a turn in the character of Vince. It appears in the next episode he is going to bump heads with the Warner Bros. head about the drug cartel movie and Aquaman 2 & he even demands $20million to do A2. So he may move back to being not so accessible.

mattbib
07-09-2006, 08:06 PM
That's exactly what happened by the end. He tried to work with WB and, while giving some allowance for time, they ended up telling Vince he couldn't do Medellin because it hurts his appearance, thus could hurt the Aquaman franchise. Vince relents, but demands $20MM to do A2.

Elsewhen in the movie:
Vince buys everyone Astin Martins.
Ari agrees to represent both Turtle and Drama.
E is taking care of certain things that he would have been afraid to do before (making uncomfortable calls, etc.).
Ari convinces Penny Marshall to hire Max to do a movie in Kyrgyzstan.

Man, where did the season go?

I totally guessed the ending (before even seeing last week's preview), but it makes total sense as a season ender. IMO Drama stole this episode. He gets the best lines hands down (when Ari doesn't, anyway).

Also, I'm impressed with the steady professionalization of E that's happened over the past season. He looks the part of a manager now (at least a lot more than he did two seasons ago).

Can't wait for Season 4.

I can't believe how overpirced the season sets are everywhere I see them.

All HBO shows seem to be like that. 80 bucks for Band of Brothers?! 70 for the Sopranos!
Whereas 24, which has twice as many episodes (or more) a season, I've seen for $40-50.

Anyway, now they have to get Jake Gyllenhall to appear next season as Vince's nemesis.

Yeah, historically speaking...

Entourage is one of the spring/summer series on HBO. I agree I wish it would hurry back into production. I enjoy watching what goes on next in the life of movie stars. I think Jeremy Piven is just incredible but I have liked him for a quite awhile even since One Crazy Summer and Say Anything.

Well, Season 3 Part 2 began tonight. It definitely feels like a different animal. I like the Carla Gugino, of the late Threshold, as the new agent. Bringing Mediian (sp?) back into play was interesting.

That subplot has me very curious.

Ari's a jerk, but is even he capable of lying like that to get Vince's hopes up and lure him back? or does he know something that he's trying to share with Vince by getting him the script. And does the new agent play a role in why its apparently not available?

I have watched all but one episode if I am correct. I think the episode two weeks ago where Ari and his wife went to the psychiatrist played by Nora Dunn was truly inspired.

The writers unleashed Jeremy Piven and let him run wild with the session visit he did not want to be at and then on the course, I just sat back and enjoyed this so very much. Then when he got to the office. So very cool. It's episodes like that which truly entertain and show the talent of good actors and writers in the right place at the right time.

As for the Carla Gugino as Vince's new agent. Man, is it me or is she getting hotter each time you see her? She started the episode in the black sleep set, my oh my! Then when she point blank called Vince and told him she wanted to get the tension out of the way, awesome!

I fully anticipated this happening as Ari has to get back in with boys some how or else the show would not be half as good as it had been. I love the fact they split the boys and Ari up but mainly because you know it will be great when they finally do get back together.

Season 3 just wrapped up on Sunday. Pretty awesome finale. I like that they brought Billy Walsh back in. Season 4 is set to start in a mere two weeks, so does that mean a lot of it is going to be on set during the filming of Medellin? According to HBO, the first ep is going to be called Welcome to the Jungle, so I think there's a good chance.

God I hate Billy Walsh. Everytime he shows up I wait for someone to kick the living daylights out of him. A man is giving him money and he insults him by calling him "trust fund baby"?! I respect that the guy tries to have an artistic vision and wants to stick to his guns but for the love of GOD, he has to curb the attitude. Medellin's success could be in serious jeopardy if he doesn't cool it.

I doubt Eric is spending all that much money. He's living with Sloan and unlike the other four, he doesn't seem to spend all that much money. Plus he could always sell his car for a good chunk of change. Didn't he drive a Pinto or some cheapo car in the first season?

Fantasy Island, the season 5 premiere

Starts out with an At The Movies review of Medellin, not a pleasant review, one of the hosts says Vinny Chase is now on his Stars to Watch Fall list, and the movie will be direct to video, cuts to Eric & Drama cutting off the TV and discussing the wreck of a movie, Drama has some girl in france on video chat on a mac air...Cut to Ari Gold going into his office and having all of his employees panning Roeper and Lloyd telling him he's about to write an angry letter to Roeper. Ari says the next person who mentions it is fired. He gets a call it's a movie offer for Vinny, who's on a beach with a massive Alan Moore type beard in mexico getting it on with two girlies and turtles girl complains they don't get to use the bed. Now we're of to see Drama on a photoshoot for his show, everything is going well for him, until the photographer asks him to pose showing his right side, which he thinks is his bad side, he refuses, photo guy galls studio big shot, Drama goes to his trailer. Back to Eric, in his office now and has Bow Wow as a client, well I think Bow Wow is supposed to be an up and coming comedian looking for a break, Ari Calls Eric, tells him about the roll. Eric calls Drama to get a line on Vince, Drama thinks baby bro is in trouble, he drops what he's doing, an actual studio head makes a cameo appearance, and Drama resolves the issue on the run saying he'll shoot the photo however they want. Eric is leaving an audition he got for Bow Wow, gets a call from Ari that they're getting a plane ride to Mexico to pick up Vince. Bow Wow gets to borrow E's sweet ride for the night after he drops E off at the van Nuys Airport. Back in Mexico, Vinny and Turtle are having a great time, Turtle does a Tattoo impersonation. And out come Ari, Eric and Drama who have to convince Vinny to come back to civiliztion before the masses only remember Chase as a has been. After an Eric pep talk, they come back to Cali so Vinny can meet with this producer for the roll. Drama's old agent sees the meeting and confronts the producer who apparantly only wanted to be seen with vinny by the agent to get his other client at a lower price. The agent calls Ari and thells him about the scheme. The crew finds out and are up in arms, leading Drama and Turtle to go to the producer's home and smash a window of one of his many expensive cars.
setting the stage for Vinny and Company to find his next big hit.

LOL at Turtle playing Drama's bitch. You had to know the little dude with the attitude was gonna explode one way or another.

I didn't care for Drama in this episode but in a way that's why he is who he is and why he's called this way: he's the drama queen of the show. He's the tough guy that's really emotional and has to have everything perfect or will cause a scene. He has to keep the beast in check if that make any sens.

Best parts of this episode:

-Models

-The model who flirts with E and takes him up to her room, so she can show him her reel. Which consists of her screaming while being killed in a Saw looking horror movie.

-Models

-Ari at work, weighing whether he should take the job, Jeffrey Tambor coming in , and the reality show writers pitching the Hobbit (whitch was the highlight of the episode). Giant hobbits!

-Models

-Ari telling Vince that he was offered the job. Ari didn't even tell Lloyd. But as he said, one of the few things holding him back from accepting the job was Vince.
