This week's column includes:
* A hop, skip, and a jump through PREVIEWS
* Reviews of two books that aren't out yet: WASTELAND #1 due out from Oni in July, and HECTOR PLASM, due out from Image this week.
* The long-awaited correction to last week's column's X-MEN movie gaffe.
That's the game plan, at least.

Corrections? Pshaw!
Love the Previews looks, especially when it points out Duck books that I would otherwise stupidly miss.

There IS a BIG Duck book out in August I'll be talking about in either this week's column or next. Fear not, one's coming.
And, yes, it is just ONE correction, not multiple. I'm not THAT bad.

Damned PREVIEWS. This column is running long. Something will need to be edited out. But UNCLE SCROOGE is definitely making it into this week's column. It's too important a release this month to have it be lost AND late to my column. I want everyone who enjoyed last year's LIFE AND TIMES OF SCROOGE McDUCK to enjoy this year's sequel. I can't wait. . .

I'll be interested in your Previews preview.
I've already turned in my book since there isn't much that grabbed my fancy. However, they are putting out the first two Amelia Rules trades again, along with issuing the third one.

Yeah, the AMELIA RULES books are DEFINITELY on my radar, but they might get pushed to next week's column.
I'm just debating, personally, on whether to buy the hardcover or softcover editions.

No debate for me, I can afford the softcovers.
I even ordered an extra one of the first trade to send to my niece.

Final tally: 3300 words. And that's AFTER I took out 700 words to use in next week's column. Whee!

Heh. It gets better -- I had some extra time tonight, so not only did I record two podcasts, I also did a first draft on a trade paperback review that ran about 1100 words.
Somebody stop me!
Wait, I think I'll go watch the Yankees/Red Sox game while I can gloat about it to Jamie. . .

Damn... don't tell me you're a Yankee fan... And to think I was starting to enjoy this board...
I knew last nite's game was a lost cause when Melkey Cabrerra scored from first base on a wild pitch...
Just a thought... when Wang throws the first pitch tonight, it'll be right around 7:06... which is REALLY 6:66!!! OMG!! ...lol, makin' myself chuckle...
...yup, this is what radio DJs do when they're on the air, ladies and gentlemen, waste time on message boards!!

um... Yankees Suck! Yeah, that's it. Heh. I'd rather live in Vermont than New Jersey... course, I'd rather be here than in Massachusetts where I grew up, too, so... I'm makin' all kinds of friends here!
Wow, how completely off topic! Sorry...

I think I'd rather be in Vermont, too, actually, but I don't suffer from any sort of inferiority complex because I'm not living in New York City.
Whew, this is turning into a geography bee now. . .

Not only did the Red Sox lose last night, they lost by walking in the winning run. And they couldn't score more than one run. Pretty impotent looking group last night. . .

I'm starting to think the thread topic wandering is my fault... ;)
Last night was worse that the previous night's blowout. I don't know how many men they left on base, but it was TOO many. And that 22 year old starter pitched so well. Ugh...
Augie De Blieck Jr.

That's the unfortunate thing. The kid pitches just under 7 innings, only gives up two runs, and still loses because of one walk in the game. I felt bad for the kid, who looked like he just graduated high school. But, hey, at least he was honored to be pitching in Yankees Stadium. (Seriously, I saw that quote on screen last night during the game. I like a kid with a sense of history.)
We'll see if the rain lets up tonight to let them get the third game in. Doesn't look too good out there right now.

Oh, it's raining there too? It's a mess here. Maybe they'll play 2 tomorrow.
David Pauley made it 6 2/3. Was literally an INCH away from getting a 1-2-3 inning and that guy ends up scoring. And Cabrarra made the catch of his life to save the game too. Ugh.....

That catch was, indeed, the #1 Web Gem on SportsCenter this morning. It IS a team sport, after all! =)

Yeah... it was last night on Baseball Tonight too. Boston's 1-4 hitters aren't so hot right now. Gotta start knocking in some runs...

And I'll be at Dewey's Comic City in Madison, NJ today from 4:20 - 4:45 or so.
Not doing a signing, though. Just picking up my comics this week. =)

I don't care who wins... I just hope the Sox and Yankees get to play tonight!! Sooooo sick of this RAIN (the same front is dumping on us in VT, too).
Okay, I lied. I do care who wins... GO SOX!!
And I'll be appearing at Earth Prime Comics in Burlington in about 20 minutes... lol! Looking forward to the third Silver Surfer Annhilation (sp?) book.

I think the last time I was on vacation in Vermont was in Manchester. There's a little comic book shop there just off Malfunction Junction. I picked up that month's PREVIEWS there, and wound up buying SIN CITY at the book store. Go fig. That was years ago. Sadly, it was after the commercialization of what used to be a nice little town. Now, it's overrun by New York shoppers looking for a weekend away in the mountains. Feh.

The nice thing about Burlington is that it's too far north for New Yawkers to find, unless they come up here to go to school... it's still not 'really Vermont' according to old Vermonters. They joke about Burlington, and Manchester, that the best thing about the cities is that they're so close to Vermont...
