I just inherited a whole wack of comics from a faimly member including Superman #2. I am not a comic collector and have no idea on how to go ahead with finding out how much these pieces are worth -- how do I go about doing this? Is this a valuable comic? There are around 250 in the lot including Batman #3-22, X-men 1-94, Hulk #1
Please let me know
thanks

These are how I would go about it.
Wizard magazine has monthly up to date price guide. I don't know how far Back they go though.
Overstreet has a bigger more indepth price guide, though for some reason they seem higher, and most sellers don't adhere to it.
Talk with a comic store, they probably know, and will help you "Grade" the condition.
Finally the best would be E-bay. See what they are actually selling for. Regardless of what any price guide says, an Item is ONLY worth what someone will pay for it.
Personally I think you seriously lucked out, and I hate you ;) :D

Please though, don't bother the comic book stores unless you do really plan on giving the chance to buy the books.
Keep in mind the issue #'s you list could belong to books that are less than 20 years old and not worth more than cover or real classic silver.
there is the monthly Comic Buyers Guide also with a more comperhensive listing and a picture guide showing what the different conditions are.
Good luck

Thanks for your advice. It looks like these comics are pretty valuable. I went to a few comic stores and they told me what they would pay, then I went on ebay and saw that they were going for more than they were offering. I also checked our comiclink.com -- anyone hear of this before? Should I spend the coin to get these comics graded before selling?

Actually, all of the books you have are WORTHLESS.
I'll be glad to take 'em off your hands, though. I'll even do it for as little as five bucks!

Hey! Do you realize I was just about to drink something when I read that? I could have choked if I had already been swallowing at the exact moment I read your post! You ought to be more careful! ;)

I think mortari's point is that "Superman #2" could be this:
http://www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=528&zoom=4
or this:
http://www.comics.org/coverview.lasso?id=42470&zoom=4
And it would make a huge difference where their dollar value was concerned; those two having been published about 48 years apart! (Sorry, I'm not sure how to splice those images directly into this post, so I had to settle for URLs.)
Just out of curiosity, which of those "Superman #2" covers looks like the comic book you inherited? :)

I'm just glad you didn't spit it all out all over your keyboard and monitor! LOL ;)
And OverMaster? PLEASE don't spoil things for me! LOL
