I didn't see any threads posted about this yet, so, from the June Previews:

"Batman: Gotham by Gaslight TP
Written by Brian Augustyn
Art by Mignola, Eduardo Barretto and P. Craig Russell
Cover by Mike Mignola
Presenting for the first time the adventures of the Victorian Era Batman in one 112-page edition! This volume includes the breakthrough Elseworlds specials GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT and MASTER OF THE FUTURE that pit the Dark Knight against Jack the Ripper and a death-dealer from the skies over Gotham.
On sale August 30 112 pg, FC, $12.99 US"

I was lucky enough to find the Gotham by Gaslight book for a couple bucks a few months back, so I don't think I'll be getting this, but it's nice that DC's giving it a chance.

Previews is the catalog for comic shops-- the TPB would be in shops (and probably on Amazon) by the ship date. (August 30)

Good, I'm glad to read that this story is being packaged in TPB form. I'm curious as to why DC is bundling GBG with the Eduardo Barreto story, but I guess they have their reasons. I'm just glad Mike's part of that equation will be on the stands so that a new audience can discover it for the first time!

I guess this also means a new Mignola cover (secretly hopes)? :D

I got it the first time It was published.

I really enjoyed it.

Maybe its being republished to coincide with the Mignola Batman action figure that's being put out.

Holy cow, did I miss this-- is there an action figure too? I knew about the statue(?)

Is DC doing an Mignola Batman action figure too? I gotta pick that up for my nephews!

I hope that this Trade will include a new cover by Mignola (wasn't he suppose to do a few of them for the fact that the Clayface story was published?) or a t least an sketch section...

It's a DC Direct figure based on Mike's GBG artwork. You can find the figure information located here Jonell:

Looks pretty nice, but IMO the Batman b/w statue based on Mike's artwork that came out recently is the true pinacia of 3-D representations of his artwork currently.

Sorry to break it to everyone, but the cover in Previews was just the old Gotham by Gaslight cover.

Not sure, but I thought it said "not final cover art" or words to that effect.

I also wonder if they'll re-colour that story... it was quite a muddy print job... not sure if that was the paper or the colouring, but seeing that in B+W in that FABULOUS french Mignola collection "Sanctuaire"... it begs for a fab-o Dave Stewart colour job!!!

cheers,
-r!

I had both..i sold both. Might make sense to buy this set. I liked the Gaslight story, didn't really care much for the other one, but there's something to be said for buying trades, which i appear to be into right now..

Probably because the Barreto story was a direct sequel to Gaslight! (Also written by Augustyn.) I remember being disappointed in the follow-up after the original, but I do like Batman in that era. Wish Elseworlds were still around and they did more with the same Victorian Bat.

Now if only they'd collect The Doom That Came To Gotham!
