You're quite welcome. I knew you'd dig the comics mix. I put it together as a christmas gift for Scott Shaw! since the man already has every cool thing ever made, so it's almost impossible to find a good gift off the shelf for him. Custom is the ticket.

The other one is by a good friend of mine, an incredibly gifted songwriter, the man who wrote what that my bride and I consider to be one of "our" songs, "Cavan Girl (http://www.harp-thistle.com/tunes/CavanGirl.mp3)".

Thom's wife is a russian woman named Lyuba, which means "love" in russian. All the songs concerning love (Love on Her Own, The Answer, Queen Love) are about her. Love on Her Own specifically mentions one of his other songs, Prayer for Love (http://www.harp-thistle.com/tunes/Prayer_for_Love.mp3) (sung masterfully by Mary Black on her Babes in the Woods album), which is another of his "love is for fools, and I should know because I am the greatest fool of all" songs.

"Comes the Comrade and the Underlord" is about the fall of the Soviet Union to the overwhelming power of McDonalds.

"San Carlos Water" is about a british sailor sent to fight in the Falklands War, and the fate that befalls him.

"Moon Noon" is an attempt to encapsulate one of his odder theories into a children's song formula. It concerns what he calls "hendecady (http://www.harp-thistle.com/thom/hendecady.html)", which is his notion of how best to re-arrange the calendar. As he explains:

"Thom's theory that certain changes must be effected in the time-sense of modern civilisation--specifically the organisation of time into a system of 11-day weeks instead of 7-day weeks (don't worry, there'll be the same number of days off)--because of certain cultural values that adhere to the ancient Saturnine-patriarchal heptad. What is called for is an Earth-centred hendecad, with Earth-day as the holy day of obligation, of course. Monday and Pluto-day will be the other weekly days off."

Anyone wishing to order a copy of this CD can find it at the Harp and Thistle (http://www.harp-thistle.com/).

And now back to occasional lurking.

That's almost true, but instead of sovereign nation it's more like a pack of wild loonies everyone is afraid to disturb.

What were the superhero songs? I tried to do a full CD for my son and only got it half full, had to add some filler in to get a full CD. I would love to be able to do a full CD of actual honest to god superhero songs.
