Good news and bad news, with the good (Brian) outweighing the bad (other) as CBR welcomes new contributors!

The less said about The Buy Pile, the better. You guys know my opinion of these tiresome 'savage' critics.

But Comics Should Be Good is pretty much the polar opposite; smart, thoughtful, fun to read and original. Even when I disagree 100%, I love the way the site analyzes and illuminates. One of the best comic blogs out there (it's halfway between a blog and a magazine, really) for quite some time, and I'm DELIGHTED they have a home here at CBR.

I love "Comics Should Be Good," and yeah, the Buy Pile is... not my favourite either. I'm not sure why some people get a column and others do not... is it as simple as asking for one?

My favourite part of CSBG is the urban legends bit.

Well, the truth is, blogosphere or not, the really good review sites seem to be mostly disappearing. Randy quit, and Don posts infrequently, I loved Sprinklin's, but that didn't last, HeroRealm is gone, Buzzscope rarely does reviews anymore. Comixtreme, Comixfan, Twoguysbuyingcomics, those are some of my favorites (I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch). Johanna's column is always great and well-written. Silver Bullet has become arrogant and patronizing, god knows why. Still a handful of smart reviewers, though.

It does seem like a lot of the literate, thoughtful reviewers have quit or curtailed their efforts. I can understand, though, it must be pretty thankless.

You freaked me out for a sec, when I was wondering "Buy Pile? Do we have a feature called Buy Pile?!! Huh?!" ;)

I dig the new setup, and I especially love the wordpress features which allow people to find stuff they want on the site really quickly, like Greg Hatcher's awesome "Fridays" columns!

I really dislike those guys. But it's mostly due to the fact that I rarely agree with their assessments, and therefore can't understand how they get so popular. It's the "Ebert" syndrome, and hell, I'm sure that people feel the same way (or even stronger) towards www.ninthart.com , which is unfortunately shutting down soon.
