Pencils by Mike Wieringo, who sent me the original high res B&W file (what a nice guy!) and inks by Kessel. Lotsa fun to colour and trying to get a 'dream-like' feel to the background elements and also make the foreground stand out. The original coloured cover (easy to find on google images) was way too tutti-frutti for me

Nice. I really like the soft rendering on the T-Shirt and I like the direction you took, pushing back the Dreamland images to make Alex stand out. I think something in the middle might work better, though. Where you can still have a hint of the background character colors. (Just thinking out loud.)

However, from an editorial standpoint, Alex has brown hair, not blonde.

nice colors! the soft rendering lends itself well to mikes clean open style. it's always awesome to see mike doing fantasty related art.
