I'm new here so I apologize if this thread has previously been made. I've just gotten back into comics and I've never really been that much of a DC fan so I don't know if this issue has ever been addressed in the comics.
It's a fact that Krypton had significantly more gravity than the earth. The presumption is that if Superman was placed on Earth with a red instead of a yellow sun, he would still be stronger than a human of the same size and shape because increased gravity leads to increased bone and muscle mass as well as denser skin. If this is the case then that means that Superman must weigh somewhere starting at twice as much as a human his size. Does anyone know if this has been brought up?

It´s one of those thing writers try to disregard.
In one issue, it was commented that Superman´s cells, even without his powers, had the consistency of granite.
So, yeah, he should be pretty dense and heavy.
Imagine a 6´5" block of granite and you should get a general idea of how much he weights - well into the ton range-.
And yet when I mention the problems of sach a creature engaging in sexual interoucrse with a human female, people dismiss it as not being dangerous at all "because he´s totally in control".
Yeah, suuuure...
How many normal women would really dare to have sex with a human sized equivalent to an intercontinental ballistic missle on the grounds that its operator "is totally in control"?

To think about it, he could be super heavy and still function, simply always using a subconscious flight to stabilise.

In Superman the Movie (I am watching right now), in his interview with Lois Lane he is 6'4 and 225lbs.

Actually, I belive he says 2,225 lb. Notice how Lois repeats the number back to him in disbelief.

This has been one thing that always bothered me about Superman when he was depowered. Whenever he loses his powers, he's always depicted as being as strong as a normal human. In actuality, he should be much stronger. Without a yellow sun, I would think that his powers would be reduced to what he was when he first appeared. Well, cut that in half. Essentially, he would still be much stronger and faster than a regular human.

But if he would weight a ton people would have notice Clark's weight too, not many charis would hold him:D
But somebody would come up with the sollution that he is always hovering a little when he is Clark Kent.
Everything about him is so impossible so it's best to forget the whole thing.
He was not raised on Krypton, so he would be diffrent just because he growed up on earth than if he would have lived his life on Krypton due to the greater gravity.
And i think people on krypton would have been shorter than humans really, and if they was as big as humans a lot broader to withhold the gravity.
There is no point for this race to have functions hidden that not work where they live at all.
But as i said it's fiction and not based on physics and sience.
I mean i could have swallowed the GA Superman's powers but todays version is to much, it's just comics.

Do you think he'll lose weight now that he's got his powers back?
