This obviously washes its hands of anything Binder or Beck. It's stated pretty officially that we'll never get that back (except maybe in Jeff Smith's upcoming Captain Marvel mini). DC, at least, won't support a "silly" Marvel family ongoing.
I think one of the things I loved about the war-era series was the bizarre self-awareness the characters had of themselves as comic characters. The first place I remember seeing this is in the Captain Nazi storyline. "You'll never find me when I invade Whiz Comics #23!" or whatever it was.
