What is it really worth? I worked a comic store for almost 2 years. I have seen it go for 1500. The guide has all different grades with prices. I have had it several times and know I can get it easy. So knowing it is out there how much is it really worth? I would like to hear from people that wish they had it to people like me that have it or had it. Share your thoughts on this one. It is probably the coolest 70's comic there is besides first Bullseye in DD 131.

I'd part with like maybe a few hundred for that issue. I've never owned it.

I'd work around that persons house fixing stuff, if that doesn't work, I would go and hire some loner from my old high school to steal it.

Pick up Hulk 180. Its the 1st appearance of Wolverine. Granted, just the last panel, but its un undervalued book. 181 is overvalued.

The price has its ups and downs. Nothing is worth what it was in the speculation boom.
I CANNOT believe what Uncanny #1 is worth, it was a HUGE print run!
I remember when Wolverine #1 (limited series) was worth around $100, I saw it in the shop yesterday for $25

It's not that great a story, and the artwork isn't even Trimpe at his best, so I'd say a couple of bucks is a good price.
The Wolvie character itself wasn't worth much until a long time after he joined the X-Men, so paying a fortune for a not-very-good comic, just because it's where the character first appeared, doesn't seem right, to me.
Besides, none of that money goes to the creators. What have shopkeepers done, to deserve a zillion-percent profit?

There must be so many of those printed, i think the price for them is wrong when so many of them exists in higher grades.
But it's people that buying them that sets the price, and if people is that stupid then the price will be this off.

To stay on topic, I never could part with large (triple zero) sums of $$$money$$$ for a comic I could easily get in reprints

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. The price guides are practically irrevalent. Try reselling any old comic and see what you get for it. I doubt it will be what the price guides say what it's worth.

I even tried selling some books back to the LCS & the prices were far from Wizard's kind estimates. Some of the ones I expected a lot for got sqawt & one I thought was crap went for a good amount...so like MythicBrawn said it's really what people are willing to pay & in my case people were apparently willing to pay a lot for that crap issue i had :)

Yup, just what I figured you guys would say. I was offered a 181 2 days ago and turned it down. People are crazy asking so much for that issue. ;)

Yeah it is crazy how much people are asking for comics at the moment.
I have an official marvel magazine estimates the comics value to be $1,300
