Not understanding what just happened in the Batman comics

So I bought the 15 issues before the annual and bought the annual (BTW, I only buy just, Batman, no other Bat books). I understood about the Red Hood and everything after researching the past issues I missed. Now it jumps ahead one year and I am lost. Did I miss the explanation of how Batman lived? I also was under the assumption the Batman book only dealt with Batman and not Robin. And why is it restarts with one big multi title crossover yet doesnt even explain what went in the other books if you didnt buy them!!

I havnt bought Batman since the annual came out because im just lost it feels like and I need help because I was loving Batman until recently with all the confusion I have.
