Lets look at some controversal stories. How would you done it differntly. Only rule ending have to be the same. If a person turn bad in the story..you cant change that...but you can change how they got there

Batgirl- running league of Assasins

Leslie turn

Jason Tood coming back

Spoiler Death

Know one.

Leslie for me easy- Just more built up. Plant seeds for it for a year. Just hints forshadowing..maybe a tragedy or two. Not just "boom I am crazy". Really that all it took..just show hints of cracking. A nervous break down, reason to become darker

Batgirl- they actully set it up well at the end of batgirl when she saw what happen to bluedavin. And though she could of stopped it if she did what she was traiined to do. Have her working with the league of assains. Not killing at first..but stepping over the line one step at the time. maybe she had to kill a terriost to save a country. Future fights she doesnt hold back as much when she has a kill move ready. Slowly she gets more comforble with it..see things are working. And thinks it a way to go.

Or maybe go the route that Giles did in Buffy. She kills so the other heroes don't have to. She does the dark things in secret so the other heroes can remain icons and pure. Kind of like what the Question was going to do in the JLA cartoon.

remeber one issue. She was in a dream state..though batman was killed by the Joker and seconds later she killed the Joker. Maybe her first kill is to save someone she loves.

I would NOT blame the fall on daddy issues

in otherword Cass may be a killer..but make her a tad less giddy about. Less doing backflips of Joy over it. Even when you turn bad you still can keep a lot of your personality. I otherword. Evil Iamtherock wouldnt spell any better then Good Iamtherock

Re: Jason Todd's comeback, I would have made him the villain behind Hush and not just some guy who jumped in and out of a fight in one issue. His comeback would have resonated a lot more w/ fans w/ Jim Lee's art for a few more issues. Otherwise, I liked Hush and part of me wonders if Loeb's original intention was to have Todd come back and maybe DC editorial changed it...

I would have made the Jason Todd turn out to be one from another earth. That way Bruce would always have to live with the uncertainty of never knowing how the real JT would feel if he were really alive.

Batgirl takes over LoA: Real simple. She goes through with her hostile takeover, but only because it enables her to do more good.

She could start a pyramid scheme, hijacking psychos and serial killers, breaking them using torture and brainwashing, and using them to hijack more psychos and killers - this would fit in well with her character defining philosophy of "everybody can change": she forces these people to get their second chances whether they like it or not, like she and Alpha were forced. If she ever orders a death, it's after heavy consideration and for the greater good, certainly not out of petty jealousy or just because she likes to slit the throats of jaywalkers. "Annalea" doesn't exist, obviously. She could use several of her own supporting characters like Alpha and lesser Bat villains like Zsasz as her lieutenants.

Key point: she's NOT a "villain". She's utterly selfless, a hero that goes further than she maybe should, but not a villain.

Jason Todd--Would have made him the mastermind behind Infinite Crisis. He would have convinced Superboy-Prime to join in recreating the world. Alex would have died either way, by Superboy-Prime's hand while trying to stop him, same with Old Superman, though Alex's would have came earlier in the series. Todd would get shot at the end by Joker, similar to the way Alex was.
