I think it may be too late to undo the damage to the character, but I think that after 73 issues, we Batgirl fans are due an explanation if nothing else. Therefor, I encourage people to email the idiot editors at DC and let them know our displeasure. Below is the email address

I'm not sure if this shocking bad revolation will actually hurt the sales of Robin. For each reader outraged a new person will probly try the book. And don't forget the fact that some people will buy the book for the character no matter how bad the storytelling is.

I think the purpose of complaining is not necessarily to make DC know that they will all lose their jobs. This may not hurt overall sales much at all. It's just to make them know that a fair amount of their long-time best customers feel betrayed, which, hopefully, matters at least a bit to them.

Indeed... your 30 bucks a month meant a lot to them... but, alas, they'll live.

I can laugh at the 57 threads about Batgirl.
Me too, but i must say they are very persistent:D
I think they should write letters to DC.
Nothing will be solved in this forum.

I was never a fan of this character, i had a hard time liking tiny new young characters that is written so over the top experienced with anything, but thats common in comics, 90lbs characters come in and kick fullgrown mans asses all the time and outdo the veterans.

If they had toned down on the best of the best things she could have been good.

Batgirl has more than 20 fans.
Yeah, but most of them would say she has red hair and is Gordon's daughter. :p

Dude, all penis jokes aside, size has nothing to do with it. If a 90lb girl knew what she was doing she could kick a grown mans ass. I've seen it. In and out of kung fu movies!

Jokes aside, Batgirl's series sold a solid 25k-28k when it was cancelled. Why do you suppose people bought it? It certainly can't be because of crossovers, guest appearances or IC tie-ins, because there were practically none.

Hell, Robin's increased sales OYL are most likely a direct result of Batgirl fans flocking over to check what's happening to her. Now that DC has basically told every Cassandra Cain fan ever to go F*k themselves, do you suppose they'll stick around for the Boy Wonder? I kind of doubt it.

I had a long reply but it boils down to this: Yes, a lot of people read Batgirl but I think the vast majority aren't nearly as up in arms and they certainly aren't going to drop comics, or even DC, because one character was misused. I think it's much more likely the increase in OYL sales on Robin is due to a good starting off point and his high visibility in Teen Titans and even Identity Crisis with Batgirl being a drop in the bucket. And, frankly, DC has misused characters a number of times in the last couple of years, ignoring character developments or even whole series that lasted longer than Batgirl did. I'm certainly not shocked and I know damn well that bitching about it on an internet message board, or even mailing DC, isn't going to make a bit of difference.

Actually, sending a written mail to DC does get their attention. The internet, not really much, including petitions.
