Roy Harper Jr. that is. Speedy. Arsenal. You know. I figured he might show up in the new Checkmate series but as of yet, no dice. He's MIA in the Outsiders too. Green Arrow's book? Nope, no sign of 'em. Where's Roy?

Roy is definitely among the most prominent MIA's at the present time.

I'm beginning to strongly suspect that either something horrible happens to him during "52" or that he's "retired" by the time it all comes to pass. He seems to be getting the "Cassandra Cain" treatment (though not -quite- as bad cause at least he shows up in the big crossover) only from the Arrow-Family side of things. Didio made some comment about too many archers being around, and I suspect he's giving the original "Speedy" the axe in some way, shape, or form. NEVERMIND THAT ROY USES A LOT MORE THAN BOWS:

So Ollie, Connor, and Mia head off to a Desert Island to recuperate and train...but don't invite Roy and Lian?

Sounds kinda like Tim, Bruce, and Dick riding off on a boat together and nobody stopping to go, "Hey...where's Cassandra, anyway?"

So if they follow the Cassandra Cain pattern, Roy will be returning as a villain in the near future, with a complete disregard for how the character's been portrayed for his entire existence. :evilangry

(Why yes, I'm a little bitter that two of my favorite characters are in limbo and/or getting warped into unrecognizability)

Someone mentioned that he might be part of Checkmate, and will appear in a later issue. Since it looks like Risk and Argent MAY be part of TTEast, maybe Arsenal will be there too.

Well neither Bruce or Ollie were ever said to be decent fathers. I completly accept that they forgot how many kids they had :p

Rucka confirmed that Roy wouldn't be in Checkmate--since there were plans for him elsewhere.

Best Case: Justice League; Worst Case: He's dead.

Maybe Ollie asked Roy to take over as a hero while he was off with the others, and so he'll be featuring in 52?

Actually, looking at the solicit it seems that the three of them didn't decide to take a holiday on an island - they were nearly dead after IC and managed to escape there... although how that fits with Ollie showing up at the memorial I don't know..
