What character that has been "ultimatized" do you think is the least interesting?
I'd have to say my least favorite ultimatized character is Ultimate Silver Sable. Her part in the last USM arc just didn't interest me. She's so similar to her 616 version, but I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Lately, the newer ultimatized characters in USM just haven't been very interesting. Deadpool and the Reavers, for instance. That whole thing would have made a better Ultimate X-Men arc in my opinion. Here's hoping Morbius is cool.

I'd have to go with Deadpool and the Reavers. Then again that whole arc went from hyped to just plain bad near the end and it's really only the Peter/Kitty moments that make it interesting at all.
I'm not against using him or ultimatizing him. Just that the whole presentation could have gone a lot better and differently. I have to agree, he should have been introduced in an Ultimate X-men arc before being used in Ultimate Spider-man. The whole arc should have been an X-men arc anyway since so much time was wasted on Deadpool and the whole mutant situation instead of Spider-man and his drama.

i think the Ultimate X-men and Fantastic Four are the least interesting characters on the surface of the planet. i think they should have stuck with the Ultimate Avengers and just called it a day. i think about it constantly and i still haven't come up with a reason for the Ultimate Universe to exist. they want to try all these things they consider cool with the characters. why not use the 616 characters and enhance them? a lot of the stuff i've seen in the Ultimate Universe is possible; the good changes at least. but be honest. is there really a point to making an Ultimate Deadpool? how are they going to make Deadpool better? he's already been radically altered from his first appearance in X-Force to become popular. it's just an inferior product (for the most part) imo.

Poor, poor Stephen. Or Stephen's son or whatever. I don't really care.

Vulture never interested me at all, but the ultimate version took the prize.
I have to agree with the choices of Silver Sable and Deadpool. The Deadpool story arc on Ultimate Spider-Man was pretty weak.

Uhm, because fans would go nuts?
Just check out the flamewar that erupted just at the *suggestion* that the Spider-marriage should be ended.
More on topic: Yeah, Ultimate Silver Sable and Ultimat Deadpool were both pretty uninteresting (which is kind of bad, because I think Silver Sable could use a good revamp)

for me it would be ultimate carnage. he was so pointless. again one of my gripes is how bendis tells his stories. 4 issues of build up, 1 issue fighting, 1 issue everyone resolving over the past events. just about every arc bendis does its the same thing.

Ultimate Wolverine is pretty boring to me. But 616 Wolverine is now too for me.

I thought Ult. Woverine was pretty cool. He had a mysterious past, I liked his look, and he was a ladies man. Then they changed him and made him EXACTLY like Regular Wolverine. I get Regular Wolvwerine in 45 titles a month. I liked Ult. Wolve. How uninteresting is that?

I was about to say Deadpool, but I came to the conclusion the problem was not him, but the extremely bad arc with all this wasted material, and the fact that it must have been an Ultimate X-Men arc. Although since Kirkman is wasting time with his Magician I guess Bendis just couldn't wait any longer... well maybe he should have.
So I'll have to go for Juggernaut. The 616 Juggernaut was a perfectly usable character as he was, being Xavier's eveil step-brother and the whole stories with him. But Mr. Millar just threw him in to Weapon X with no personality, no relationship to Xavier and being a mutant. Thanks a lot. Even with Vaughan's attempt to reuse him on the Annual using that, it's just not Juggernaut.
And I couldn't care less about the Fantastic Four. Carey should send them to space and make them stay there, never to be seen on Earth again.

I'm glad someone else feels this way. At first, I loved the Ult. Wolverine. He was a nice change of pace from the regular Wolverine. But, now, Kirkman is writing the Ult. Wolverine exactly like the regular version. Pretty much defeats the purpose of the Ultimate Universe. Too bad. I was enjoying the nice change of pace and fresh take on his character.

none of the spidey vilians as of late have been far streches of their 616 counterparts. none of them are even developed that much. is moon night just some scitophrentic wacko in a costume? bendis used to do a better job developing his characters. i suppose the quality of his villians has decreased as the quantity increased.

Because many of us like it and want to read it?

I'd have to say Ultimate Luke Cage, at least up to where I've read about him in the graphic novel collections. I thought he would be one of the best characters to transfer into the Ultimate Universe. His origin was almost down to Earth and dealt with social realities of the real world. By the standards of its time, it was one of the most realistic origins. Then I found out he was already ultimized as a superhero wannabee. What a waste of potential.

Well, technically, Ultimate Luke Cage has yet to be revealed. You are talking about Ultimate Power Man. Maybe they are two different people in the UU?

I hope they update his name if they do decide to bring him in, whoever he is.

Deadpool and dr strange were the worst. Those are some of my favorite charcters and they were just piss poor half assed versions.

I couldn't disagree more I'm afraid, without the Ult universe I might have never started reading comics again. I doubt I'd have jumped right back into 616 again.

What about Ultimate Punisher and Ultimate Daredevil? Is there anything remotely different about them from the 616 universe? I have yet to see it..

I'm on that bandwagon too. Just changing the 616 characters would still leave decades of continuity I could never catch up on and in some cases, the changes would be impossible. Starting over from the beginning with a fresh continuity where I can collect them all does it for me. Also, there is no way some of the characters in 616 could get back to their original basis and appeal. For instance, I always liked Spider-Man but he was never one of the ahem ultimate characters for me. But in the UU, he literally is the ultimate character for me, partly because he's back to his roots and partly because those roots are explored maybe even more realistically than the first time around and that is saying a lot because the first time around was darn realistic for its time.

How about Ultimate Iron Man? He is just like the regular Iron Man except his alcholism and womanizing are alot more raging.

Ultimate Daredevil has been a waste of space so far. He's just there because he had a movie come out. As much as I like the Ultimate line, all they're really doing is pimping the movies.

But he's still one of the greatest characters in the entire UU.
The thread is about which Ultimate characters are the least interesting; not which ones have been changed the least from their 616 counterparts.

the iron man in the ultimates, yes. the mini-series iron-man is, as far as i know, far more original than just some guy in a robot suit. the story was penned by sci fi writer orson scott card (you know, the guy who wrote ender's game? if you haven't read that book, then go to the nearest bookstore and read it now!). it wasn't the greatest series, but i liked it. i might browse through the next mini series later this year.

The brain tumor as opposed to the heart that can allow him to live as long as he has the chestplate on is different because he knows he will die within a few years. But that's if they don't come up with a way around that.
