The Golden Age Wonder Woman (not John Byrne's Hippolyta, but the *real* Golden Age Wonder Woman of Pre-COIE Earth-Two) supposedly retired to Mount Olympus with the Steve Trevor of her Earth at the end of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS. In the LEGEND OF WONDER WOMAN miniseries that followed shortly after COIE, she was wiped from existence completely.

So where did she come from to reappear in INFINITE CRISIS? She hadn't been on Mount Olympus (if she were, it'd be unlikely that Diana and Hippolyta would have been unaware of her existence all this time), and where did she disappear off to? Why did she choose to disappear again at that time? Since the mission was to reach into the heart and mind of the Golden Age Superman, wouldn't it be best to do that through the Wonder Woman he recognized and was most familiar with rather than one who was completely alien to him?

By the time this happened, I had already lost faith in Infinite Crisis, so I didn't care anymore. The original Wonder Woman shows up and knows exactly where her successor is, as well as what is happening with the Supermen and where? Whatever. I am a little surprised that there wasn't even an attempt at explanation, or if there was one, it was in one of the tangential issues.

It was probably another little reality pocket, like the one Alexander Luthor created, only made by the Earth 2 Greek Gods instead. That way they, just like the others, could watch everything that happened on Earth 1.5. Because she left after them, she knew exactly where "our" Wonder Woman was.
