May 15, 2006, the third Monday of May

The traditional greeting is "Good Miracle Monday."

Dedicated to the day Superman inspired world leaders to be free from crime, tyranny, and ignorance. Miracle Monday is celebrated with a traditional Miracle Monday dinner, with a place left empty at the table for Superman, in case he ever returns, with a portion of everyone's food placed onto an empty dish for him. Reporters are given the day off to spend with their families, in honor of Superman's chosen profession. The League of Supermen on distant planets make costumes and sell memorabilia on this day.

The prices of ski-lift tickets on Neptune inflated for the holiday.

Here's a link to the incredible Maggin novel:
MIRACLE MONDAY (http://superman.ws/thebook/mm_contents.php)

Elliot Maggin used to say Miracle Monday was a real holiday for him. And hopefully, for you and yours too.

Don't some editions of this have Christopher Reeve on it? Is it intended to follow the comics or movie continuity (Or neither, like most comic novels?)

No Maggin novel is set in the Superman movie continuity. Christopher Reeve on the cover is just a marketing thing. Kind of like how a movie poster will appear on a book that's related to it shortly after it comes out.
