Well I've just finished watching what has got to be one of the greatest series finalies that ever happened on a animated program.

I got to actually see Darkseid in a non-Jobbersied manner and Lex Luthor going out in a badass fashion.

Speaking of Lex he has had two great moments from two different tv shows.

Him turning into Zod during the Smallville Season Finale and him saving the world in JLU.

Hopefully the animated gods could bring this show back on a different network but I doubt it so Im just gonna salute JLU for being such a great show.

P.S: No bitching about Legion. I have quite had it so if your gonna bitch about that then make a thread about it. This thread is to say goodby to JLU and talk about the goodtimes when it was on.

I was a fan of the DCAU since the premiere of Batman: TAS way back during my freshman year in college. I was giddy when almost ten years later I saw the first promo for Justice League on Cartoon Network in the fall of 2001. It was my dream project, a serious version of the JLA, done by the guy who had gotten Batman and Superman so right. And the series sure didn't disappoint.

To be honest, I was disheartened by the early episodes of JLU, as I found them to be a step backwords from the high standards of JL. However, once the season got going and the Cadmus arc emerged, it was as good as any superhero show ever. Hell, it's my favorite by far.

Wait, its ending?

Gawd Damnit why?

Although the ending is open enough that if someone else does pick it up they can start from right where it was left off.

I think that the "Destroyer" episode has done the impossible. It made Superman look badass. I marked out hard when Superman told Darkseid that fighting him gave him the chance to cut loose and leveled a part of the city when he punched in the jaw. Single greatest Superman moment ever.

It's a sad thing that JLU is ending. It was such a great show. You have a show that's loved by casual fans and comic fanboys then you know you got something special. RIP JLU, it was fun while it lasted.

No it shouldn't be someone else... For fear they might take down The Crapman's path...

Anyways, I grew up on Timm's DCAU. I was 8 when the Batman:TAS. So this is a big blow to me, but I know all good things must come to an end.

Did they ever do anything with the Kalibak plot point? The Earth Justice League went to Apocalypse and captured the current "Head of Government", or whatever you want to call Kalibak, and apparently imprisoned him on Earth. Wouldn't that have a New Genesis planet violating the treaty first?

Well, there's always the chance that they could do a movie feature like they did with Batman: TAS and Superman: TAS in a few years. That would be really awesome.

I have no idea what the story would be, though. They pretty much covered most of the bases with the past couple of seasons.

I have to admit, while I never cared much for Superman, he was a badass during his fight with Darkseid.

While part of me would like to see it come back I dont want JLU to end up like Family Guy whare it comes back after a few years then it turns into a pathetic shell of it's former self. If by some miracle it do come back I want only Bruce Timm calling the shots.

I hope it's not the last animated show Timm will be doing. Id love to see him do something with Marvel since he already made an impact with DC.

I loved Superman's line to Batman "Come on, it's Lex flipping Luthor"

Great line at the end from Wonder Woman "...and the adventure continues."

I'm sad to see JLU and the Timm/DC-verse go but at least it went out in style.

I love the sequence where we see the various Leaguers donning their costumes and teleporting into battle (Speaking of which, did anyone else catch the nod to Spiderman and his Amazing Friends?)

I also thought the end sequence with homages to the JSA, Seven Soldiers of Victory, Satellite League, Detroit League, and JLI was a great way to go out.

I also like that I got see such a kickass and trippy concept as the Source Wall animated at least once.

Saturdasy without JLU will seem empty for me. Guess I'm gonna have to grab the DVDs.

Just to know, the episode that Darkseid is back and Superman fight for the first time with his real power, is the last episode of JLU, or exist more after this?

I liked this episode. I thought the part where Superman beat on Darksied was pretty cool. The end was a little lame, with Wonder Woman looking down on Supes and Bats like two little boys and saying "...and the adventure continues...." That was forced. And am I mistaken, but did Steel have the same voice as green lantern? Overall a pretty good episode, sad its gone.

I started another thread ( I don't know how I missed this entire forum before, I owuld have loved to have discussed the episodes) that said:

Wow. Incredible. Was that the last episode? I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Seeing Kal unleash like that, wow! WHY are they ending this series? I look forward to it every week!

"But me, I have another problem. I've spent my whole life feeling as if I lived in a world made of Cardboard... but you, you can take it, can't ya big guy?"

I got a little tear in my eye when Kal zomed in FRONT of the airborne Darksied and nail him again. :)

The whole episode: Bad assed. :D

Your eyes will have to look for the DVDS, because the show's over.

It was pretty great stuff. The finale was amazing and leaves it open for continuations.

Micheal Dorn got to be too expensive, particularly for a show with a budget that features a large cast.

already got a thread on comic book rumbles asking that very question about continuation.

Personally, even if they can't afford the big three, they have built enough personality between the rest of the cast, that they could quite easily keep things going.

Hell, they have a focal point between john stuart and shierra hall (nowhere near sure on the spelling), that would be quite easy to build the justice league around them, especially with flash, the manhunter (who they can do so much with and can easily play the brick if necessary) and throw in a few characters that show promise (such as question), and they got a solid enough basis for another season.

And last I checked, the JLU comic book is still going. They've really expanded the cast with that.

If they do more JLU in any form, they've got to tell the story of what happened to J'onn when he was away.

Also bring closure on the John Stuart and Shierra Hall relationship.

Awesome episode! Loads of action, Superman going all out on Darkseid, Batman avoiding the Omega Beams, and the return of J'onn!

I felt a little weepy when Batman saved Lex Luthor, that may be the last grapple-save of the DCAU. Hard to believe it's been around for 14 years, but man, I loved every minute of it.

The ending may have been corny, but it was a great way to showcase all the heroes and keep a light tone. My only real complaint is the lack of Orion.

Aw, I was hoping since part 1 kind of hinted towards an all out battle on Apokolips featuring the New Gods vs. random JL-ers, we'd see some action besides Darkseid vs. everyone, but it was good nonetheless.

Dr. Fate was, presumably, in the battle since he did make the JSA line-up. They probably just didn't have time to show him.

AMAZO, sadly, left Earth in "Wake The Dead" and hasn't been seen since. Who knows if he ever came back?

You know, I'll be the first to express disappointment about Superman's role. Not major disappointment, but I hate that whenever Superman unleashed he still got dropped. I've had a major problem with the way JL and JLU has handled Supes.

The bottom line is, they know the show is pretty much finished. There's no reason why this should'nt have been between Darkseid and Supes alone in the end--to the death. It would have definitively closed several open-ended storylines that began with S:TAS finale "Legacy", and I think JLU should have given Supes the same kind of closure here that Bats and Terry got in last season's finale.

I think the upcoming Superman vs. Brainiac DVD is supposed to give the animated Supes some closure. Apparently that's when Lois finds out.

Too bad Tora never got any lines.

If I could have just one more episode of this series, I'd have loved if, after the TV rights to Blue Beetle reverted back to DC, if they'd done a JLI/Superbuddies episdoe with Ted, Booster, Bea, Tora, Sue, Ralph, and maybe even Max.

Glad to hear it. Is this the "old" Braniac--not the Lex-iac or Brain-seid version? And if so, does it fall after JLU or is the question never brought up?

It's old Brainiac. I'm not sure where it takes place. I'm assuming after JLU. But not 100%. Tim Daly and Dana Delany are coming back. Unfortanetly Clancy Brown and Corey Buron aren't playing Lex and Brainiac (it's Powers Boothe and Lance Henrikson). Still I'm looking forward to it though. Daly was my favorite Superman ;)

The main theme for the season was developing Lex Luthor and the villains' team, so they had to play a big role in the finale.

And besides, we've seen the Superman vs. Darkseid fight already.

What's cute is that J'onn changes into a dragon, a nice nod to the original JL series opening.
