At the end of IC7, we're shown Bruce getting ready to take a sabbatical, along with Dick and Tim.
If I'm understanding the current OYL arc in Nightwing, he just came back to take down the false JT-Nightwing.
Why then is he showing up in 52 at all? Shouldn't he be off with Bruce and Tim at the time 52 starts, and not set to return until 52 is over (so he can take down JT, and a pretty crappy story arc)?
Or has this already been explained and I just missed it?
Thanks in advance for any incite provided.

That is weird. Then again Robin was suppose to be off with Dick and Bruce as well but somehow he found the time to go around and get a new Teen Titan team together, do 90 some odd cloning attempts to bring back Conner, and get back early enough to be framed for killing a fake Batgirl.

I thought IC was to clear up and fix continuity issues like this, not create new ones? Especailly right at the start of things. Was there no communication between the writers?

I didn't even think about the things you mentioned, concerning Robin. Although, I believe in Robin 148 or 149, it's revealed he left Bruce and Dick early to head back to Gotham after getting that note.
As it pertains to the Titans situation, though, I usually refer to the team books as secondary canon, meaning whatever happens in the solo books happens first, and any team stories fit in between the solo book story arcs.
I'm of the mindset now that it was the JT-Nightwing in the first issue of 52. If that's true, though, that guy's fast as hell, and he's one of the most dangerous foes that Bat-Family has, seeing as how he knows exactly when Bruce, Dick, and Tim take the sabbatical, and when he can first appear as Nightwing.
Either way, I guess the 52 creators have about 51 more weeks to clear up this mess. Should prove to be interesting.

I am going to reserve my rights to theorize until later. I think they are so many questions that must be answered and I want to see how they begin to explain half the stuff in the books OYL.
