This thread is for discussing and speculating on Elongated Man/Ralph Dibney, one of my main characters of 52. If you want to generally discuss a certain 52 issue, please try to keep it in that issue’s designated thread.

Also remember, if you want to post any information from an issue before it hits the stands on Wed., please use [spoil ] [/spoil ] tags.

Elongated Man’s History:

Ralph Dibny's love of contortionists got him to seek out their secrets. He learned that some of them drank a juice from the gingold plant. Using chemistry, he made a concentrated form of the gingold juice which gave him the ability to stretch any part of his body. He made a name for himself a "the ductile detective," solving many mysteries (sometimes with his friend the Flash). It was on one of those cases where he met Sue Dearbon. They quickly fell in love and were married (becoming a mystery-solving duo). Ralph was asked to join the Justice League and stayed a part of the team through many incarnations. He is widely known as one of the friendliest super-heroes.

Tragedy recently struck Ralph's life as Sue was killed in their home.

No love for Ralph? Weird, considering he's probably been featured more than any other character in 52 so far. Well, I'll try to start the ball rolling.

I predict that initial attempts to resurrect Sue fail and Ralph is driven further into despair, but eventually pulls himself off the floor like a true hero. Then, in Week 52, Sue really is resurrected and Ralph gets his happy ending. Ralph is "unavailable" (according to Batman One Year Later) because the Dibnys are travelling the world.

Oh, and I loved the return of Detective Ralph in 52 #2. Hated the way he was drawn on the last couple of pages though. Ralph should not look like Jimmy Olson.

Then, in Week 52, Sue really is resurrected and Ralph gets his happy ending. That would be a really cool way to end 52. Good idea.
Oh, and I loved the return of Detective Ralph in 52 #2.I agree. I was kind of hoping the tombstone thing would be a bigger mystery than what we saw. It would've been cool if he spent several month's worth of 52 trying to solve the mystery.
