It's not horrible, but I much prefered the old format they used, with the tiny preview's and news.

Yeah, I always preferred letter cols, but I understand why they may not be in vogue these days. When DC switched to the Mole, I was wary, but in time, I kind of liked it. Then we got the (whatever it was called before DC Nation). I just think that, currently, it is an "inside-joke, I think I'm funnier than I really am" by Didio and we really aren't getting anything out of it. So far (I said so far), it isn't even as useful as Cup o' Joe which, though often inane, usually gives some good insider info.

Yeah, they're crap. Didio thinks he's Stan Lee or something and he ain't.

They'd be fine if it was the old days when the readership topped out at about 20 or so, but considering the majority of the readership probably isn't much younger than Didio, they come off as ridiculous, pandering and condescending.

I read the first one but couldn't get through any of the others after that.

Awful. Who wants to see a picture of Dan Didio and his big mustache? I certainly don't.

My biggest problem with them (and whatever it was the came before it) is that sometimes the "Also this week:" list isn't accurate because things get pushed back. Really, they should get rid of that part. I mean, where do they think I bought the comic? Somewhere that dosen't have what's actually on sale that week?

I think these columns could be much better if you just paid pros to write short essays on their favorite DC character and put that up there each week. Superman & Batman by Grant Morrison. The Flash & Green Lantern by Mark Waid & Geoff Johns (anyone hear their Super Friends' DVD commentary? Hilarious). I'm not really that interested in what Dan Dido or Joe Quesada have to say each week. Every once and awhile, yes, but I prefer the Captain of the Ship to be the strong silent type.

Both DC Nation and Cup O joe are pretty much useless. They never really tell us much of anything. I'd much prefer something along the lines of Denny O'Neill's columns from DC in the late 80's. which were well articulated short essays on comic-related topics.

I think Bored has the right idea. The Vertigo checklist page gives creators the chance to discuss their upcoming projects, which I think would work a lot better for the DCU books than the DC Nation.

It's useless as far as I can tell. It gives Didio a chance to kvetch about how busy he is and declaim how there is just so much great stuff coming out. Waste of a page.
