The two most dangerous bears alive have interbred. (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12738644/?GT1=8199)
IQALUIT, Nunavut - Northern hunters, scientists and people with vivid imaginations have discussed the possibility for years.
But Roger Kuptana, a guide from Canada’s Sachs Harbor was the first to suspect it had actually happened when he proposed that a strange-looking bear shot last month by an American sports hunter might be half polar bear, half grizzly.
It's just phase one of their plan!

They apparently haven't bred out their vulnerability to bullets, so we're still safe.

There are mix breeds of dogs, so, why not bears?

Once they figure out how to splice in the laser-eye gene, we're screwed.

It's okay, I have a plan. We need to start interbreeding our Marines and our Army Men to create a race of modern super-soldiers! And surely they will never turn against us, like those lousy robots.
Yeah, robots, I'm lookin' at you...

Actually, polar bears and grizzlies have been bred in captivity before, because people are crazy. A lot of experts thought it was very unlikely to ever occur in the wild though, because polar bears are crazy.

Damn. I've seen both kinds of bears at the zoo... they're HUGE. Not only that, but the zoo had this polar bear in an enclosure by herself, because she'd been sick. The polar bear was in the water, playing with her toy when we walked by: a car tire. A LARGE car tire. And the bear was bending it in two with her front paws like it was nothing. They said they keep having to replace her tire, because she tears them up.
If I ever had any desire to move to Canada (cold weather, brr!) it just took one step *farther* away. :D

And once they add black bears, Russian bears, and Teddy Ruxpin into the mix... well, you know what's coming:
RoboBear.

Maybe you didn't get the memo.
Bears are godless killing machines and they want our honey. Shooting them is okay.
