Look this may sound weird at first. But some woman was on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart (I realy like this show) saying bull crap like the reson that gas prices is up is supply and demand. And that saying that ethanol is unsafe and hard to transport. That's all most fun when I saw an Episode of Modern Marvels on History Channel telling me about sugar. (Yes sugar makes ethanol) And finding out that Brazil uses sugar ethanol in there cars. And yes Brazil said it is the most Easiest way to transport. OOP! maybe she should have seen what I saw. By the way I googled it and this is what I got. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=brazil+sugar+ethanol+Easiest+transport&btnG=Search Have fun.:D

Yes, except here in the US, we use mostly corn to make ethanol. I hope eventually we'll switch over to E85 (which means that there's 85% ethanol, 15% Gasoline.)

I like to know where we using 85% ethanol sents Bush wants us using 100% Gasoline. On a side note I did forget one problem. ethanol engines can not start in cold weather. They need 5% gas to start or more or less I realy don't remember what it is.

The goofy thing is that even if we switched to ethanol, it would be corn ethanol. Which takes up nearly as much energy to produce as it generates vs sugar ethanol which is about 8x more effiecent. The reason we would switch to corn is because of the farm lobby (you know that one that makes sure farmers get federal dollars to NOT grow stuff). Basically be trading one cartel for another.

Even more sad, if we did switch to sugar or even better make it both, let the consumer choose, chances are it would fix the drug problems in Mexico, Central and South America as they would suddenly have something of real value to export. They would need the land, workers etc to meet the American energy supply. Sadly though, politics and lobbiest will ultimatly have a say in what happens. Makes you wonder why elect anyone anymore since all of em go to the highest bidder anyway.
